I love the franchise, but I utterly despise the new Paradox.
Still a little bit less worse than EA, Activision/ Blizzard and Ubisoft, but not by much.
though I must admit that releasing the original Diablo DRM free gives some bonus points to ActiBlizz.
I'll probably have shaky hands and poor eyesight by the time Paradox will release a complete edition, if ever.
I won't buy games one atom at a time.

Here is hoping the combat isn't going to suck this time. Pretty much the only flaw the original had but a huge one. Brought the overall rating of the game down to 8.5/10 for me. It was that bad.

NuffCatnip: what to do...
Never pre-order a game.
No Linux + First person view only...
Cross my fingers for them to change their mind, they have time for that until 2020 xD

Waiting for more news about the game before to buy ^^

Great to see the series make a return.

Not gonna pre-order but if reviews and hands-on previews look good I'll grab it day one here.

Will give props to Paradox, despite peoples feelings about the company they didn't do a store exclusive with this one like some others have recently.

I would prefer if combat will not be the main focus of the game.
I want superbly crafted story lines with multiple intelligent ways of solving issues at hand.
No grind, illogical mazes, simple fetch-quests, lootboxes or escort missions please.
And be sure to sign non-expiring licenses for the music.

I'm not a fan of pre-ordering, but if you're planning on getting it day 1 anyway, pre-ordering might be better for you due to Fair Price still existing and due to being able to cancel it if the previews turn out to be bad. That's only for a day 1 purchase though; waiting for the price to lower is always cheaper otherwise.

Some form of combat is inevitable. Otherwise it might as well be a visual novel.

The blend of gameplay/story was perfect in the original, it's just the mechanics which sucked hard. If the combat was polished, the first game could've been an easy 10/10.
When they say it'll be released for 2020, do they mean the year or the price with complete DLCs ?

Hm, instead of the video I get an empty box. Is this just me, or is it a bug?

blotunga: I would only buy it if Paradox guarantees that the Blood Moon package has every possible future DLC included. Else I will wait a few years for them to churn out their thousands of DLCs.
Small chance of that if the game performs decently. This will be Paradox's maiden voyage as a RPG developer and it's a sequel to a famous classic that fans have been clamoring for for years; I expect them to support it like crazy if it performs anywhere close to well. That's a good thing, what with big publishers proclaiming singleplayer games to be dead and pushing the Live Service model, but it does mean you can likely expect more DLC.
Wonder when they will release system specs for this.

I probably shouldn't worry too much as I just upgraded my PC 2 weeks ago but would be nice to know.
I wanna play this on google stadia with my vr set on while eating avocado toast
Seeing as this has huge, nostalgic shoes to fill, I'd be very cautiously looking forward to it even under ideal circumstances. Do want 3rd person view though. And to be perfectly fine not to use firearms (think I used a pistol in one fight in the first one, and a flamethrower at the end). And definitely have Tremere and their blood magic. And wonder how Mitsoda feels now about that interview where he said that nothing like Bloodlines will ever be made again, and that it's a good thing, because it was too much to deal with and gamers shouldn't want such long and complex games again... Or if the fact that he works on it after that interview means it won't be that long or complex...
But either way, I see hype a year before the planned release, insane price, regional price hike because we're supposedly so rich over here (and somebody else was complaining earlier in the thread for a lack of a regional discount... be thankful you at least get the US price!), multiple editions, pre-order bonuses though admittedly that doesn't seem to include anything relevant in game, already 3 pieces of planned DLC... And Paradox, so likely tons more DLC as time passes and even more insane total price, and likely holding on to the price for years and years, and possibly other rotten practices as well.
If it'd be some other publisher, I'd consider it on a good discount after those 3 planned pieces of DLC would release. Being Paradox, maybe in 2030 or so, if I'd know even then that it'll be truly complete and reasonably priced. Though of course if it'll still have a regional price hike, regardless of how low the price would be, it'll never be acceptable to legally purchase, so unless that "market reality" changes until then, it's all a pointless discussion anyway (well, unless I'll trade something with no regional price hikes for it from someone from a region getting the base price, that's an option for such games I guess).
