I attacked IJN submarines operating in Hawaiian waters with available ASW Catalinas and (slightly later) Dauntlesses in case damaged subs were forced to the surface. The AI then ordered them back to Pearl Harbor. However, instead of landing, they just continued to spin (circle?) and eventually began to be "destroyed" (crashed after running out of fuel?). I tried to manually tell them to "land" which didn't work. I noticed that carrier-based aircraft did not have this problem; instead, they landed, refueled and rearmed, and were ready for the next mission assignment.

Is this a known bug?

Would appreciate any help or further discussion.
