Every now and then I have a goggle at the Movie section here.

First time I did that i grabbed the two freebies on offer ... only seems to be one of those now.

As for the others, I felt then as I do now, that the lowest price of $7.69 AUD is too much for a good number of them.

I only know a few of them, usually documentaries I have seen on free-to-air TV, and while most are okay, I would not dream of paying nearly $8 AUD for them.

$7.69 AUD seems a bit contrived to me. Surely some should be much cheaper.

Some of the others I recognize as movies i could buy at the local DVD store, but the rest (huge majority) I just don't know, though sometimes the title is helpful.

Now I have got better things to do with my time, than to wade through everything on offer to see if anything is indeed worthy of spending the asking price on. This is not helped by lack of genre or category, and I don't want to visit each page.

At the very least, I feel they should be organized into 3 categories - Documentary, Movie, Blend (Mockumentary, Sendup, etc).

I am saying all this, because I feel a bit lost on those two movie pages, and put off by the prices.

I do like a good movie or documentary though.

Just seems a lot to pay to check something out, and trailers can only provide a bit of insight ... and many in my experience over-inflate things to get a sale.

So a bit more clarity is what I would like .... and ultimately some cheapies.
What dark and forgotten paths of gog you have traveled to...
GOG once tried to liberate the movies from their DRM bound existence. Let's say their attempts have not borne much success.
I wonder if they even browse the movie section themselves. :p
Maybe a Blue can clear things up for you.
Oh well; for the laughter: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/movies/power_of_grayskull :D

I do would totally buy it if get here though; and its something which gog could realistically get their hands on.
I regularly forget we even have a movie section.
I've seen a few of them, none were worth paying to own. Most wouldn't be worth the time to watch, but some were good (indie movie was good, trek Nation was alright, bronies was eye-opening)

Now I have seen all those on free-to-air TV, and while they were okay, who in their right mind would pay more than a couple of bucks at most for them ... if even that.

It was eye-opening wasn't it.

We live in a very odd world sometimes, to say the least ... and Bronies is one of the milder, friendlier oddities.

It certainly seems that way, as I felt very unsettled there ... not the usual GOG Vibe.

For those who are somehow not aware - GOG Movies

------------------------------

Actually I am quite surprised that GOG don't have an EBOOK section too.

While I know many games sometimes come with the odd one or two ebooks, many more about games or that games were based on etc, are out there.

Yeah, comics would totally make sense, as they are already offered DRM-free, often in Humble and Groupees bundles too.

They wouldn't even add more to server load or anything, as compared to games their file sizes are on the small side.

I guess with movies GOG tried to bite more than they can realistically chew, and now they won't take another bite at all. There's so much more that could be offered DRM-free... books, comics, maps, music, software tools, clipart, photos, etc.

Yeah, for sure.

There are also a huge number of Game Guides out there alone. In fact, many have probably disappeared off the radar, and GOG could be doing a wonderful resource bringing them back. I mean, what a perfect place it would be here for them .... all those OLD out-of-print GAME GUIDES.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Low tech support need, and we all like to read!

Definitely, and I can easily imagine using an ereader or tablet device to read a game guide while playing on the PC.

The perfect scenario really.

P.S. Even just via an ebook app on your phone would be great.

As you may have noticed, I decided to do a separate topic on GOG EBOOKS.

EDIT - Come and join in the fun, this place abounds with positive minded individuals. LOL

Also easier to keep this one on subject too - GOG MOVIES.

:)
