Judging from the trailer, this really looks like an 100% chick-game. Neurosis galore.

GOG keeps looking more and more like ich.io by the week, but even that mess of a platform got indie games I actually want like Freedom Planet 2...

Easy there, Knight of the Cuck Table.
Really does come across as a 100% "chick-game".
At least there seems to be some edge to it and it's not all-out cosy-comfy-all drenched in pastel colours and shit though.

itchy is cool for new devs though.. I'd be happy for them all to come to GOG. itchy's launcher is awful.

And ZeroRanger, Monolith (the one from team D-13), Bot Vice, Blue Revolver, the upcoming Radio the Universe...

People here love retro games, yet the pixel goodness is elsewhere. :-(

Can't tell you for sure what the target audience for the game is, if there is one, but I like the artistic direction of the game, plus I wouldn't classify this game as a tea party by the looks of it.

Otherwise, does the game explore some women's issues? Seems highly likely, but your life is anything remotely like mine and you have a mother, a wife and a daughter, all whom you are close to, exploring some women's issues in your entertainment should not feel like drinking vinegar.

IMO the game does look interesting. And it seems focused on the subject of recovering from emotional damage or growth pains. There have been plenty of Indie games recently, centered on the idea of "growing up" or "rebuilding oneself". But has there ever been one solely about the feminine side of things? I honestly don't know.
The only game I remember playing, about female trauma, was the Cat Lady. And that game is excellent!
Lost Cosmic Child found. (nice banner&water art)
I understand the needs of marketing and all, but "Every frame is a masterpiece" is overselling it a bit, don't you think? I mean, the graphics are nice enough I guess, but it's not exactly Blade Runner :D

Anyway, as much as I love 2D animated point & click adventure games, I prefer them more silly and... well, adventurous. You know, more zombie pirates and less basically doing someone's therapy session.

My personal opinion is that overemphasizing the feminine (or masculine for that matter) is too reductionist. Both women and men are human, first and foremost.

Some women experiences are more relatable to other women (although I resist the argument presented by some that you cannot possibly understand or empathize unless you are a woman), but there a huge intersect that can be appreciated by anybody, regardless of their sex.

I played the Cat Lady a while ago. I quite enjoyed it. I really should get around to playing their other games at some point.
