Revenge of the Savage Planet is an upbeat, satirical action adventure Sci-Fi – and it’s now available on GOG!

In a future knocked off its axis by corporate greed and stupidity, you have been made redundant and abandoned on the far edge of space with little gear and no safety net. You must explore every nook and cranny, collect dozens of upgrades, and turn over every mysterious alien rock if you want to get revenge on your former employer and return to Earth.

Across multiple planets and through myriad challenges, you will be tasked with exploring and understanding these beautiful alien worlds. There are plants to scan, creatures to capture, lakes to swim, caves to spelunk, mountains to climb, upgrades to craft, and hundreds of secrets to uncover…

You can also get Cosmic Hoarder Edition and Cosmic Hoarder Edition Upgrade.

Now on GOG!

This is a game that I have yet to play its first part (And, I got the game for free from Amazon Prime). But I did get to see its mechanics and gameplay when a friend of mine played it on Sony's PS4. So, I can't talk more in depth about the game as I would like to (from my own experience).

At first glance, it retains its graphical aesthetic (colours, art and character design, among other things it seems to retain from its predecessor). Also, the first-person perspective seems to have been changed to a third-person perspective (in terms of gameplay). Changes, as long as they are well implemented, are welcome.

As far as we can tell its quirky sense of humour is still alive and well in this sequel. That's always a good thing. This installment is being handled by Raccoon Logic Studios Inc. as opposed to the previous one by Typhoon Studios and 505 Games (as publisher). Honestly, it's not that we're talking about another development studio, on the contrary, the core team of Typhoon Studios after its closure in 2021 by Google (for those who don't know the news) reorganised into Raccoon Logic Studios Inc, keeping the rights to this intellectual property. And, it's great that things worked out this way. Because, usually, it's rare to see a sequel in the hands of another studio that respects the original material and gives continuity to the development of its story. Even more so if there are new ideas to implement.

In my case, I will play the previous instalment first before getting my hands on this new one. To the wish list. Thanks to GOG and the guys at Typhoon Studios (now Raccoon Logic Studios Inc.) for this series. And, for trusting DRM-Free as a business idea. I'd like to see (albeit on a smaller scale) a DRM-Free re-release on optical disc (or USB format) as a collector's item (I don't know a re-release by the development team if possible) for sale. =)

I'll put it on my wishlist for now.
"Buy Revenge of the Savage Planet before June 26th, 3pm UTC and receive Cinco de Mayo Trash Panda Suit as a gift!"

Sad to see FOMO like this. Wish stuff like this wasn't on GOG...
