Anytime there's more than a handful of enemies on screen, the frames dip into the 20s.
My PC shouldn't be the issue, I can run new games on mid to max settings and this a PS Vita title that is a couple years old.
No idea what's causing it, played around with the Nvidia settings and the game settings themselves.
Re-installed the game as well.
Will try compability modes, but I double that'll help.
Any ideas on what I could try?
Edit: In the training map, the issue does not occur, I just let a dozen or so enemies spawn which didn't impact the framerate. On other maps all it needs is 5 or 6 enemies and the game starts lagging considerably.
The training map is bigger and has more details than maps that have the lag issue. It's just weird.

When did you notice lag in which stages?
Maybe anything on pcgamingwiki for this?
Anyway any setting i used was borderless window fullscreen. Maybe something with the refresh rate?

I played the Hebijo story arc (still in chapter 1) and noticed the lag during Imu's side quests first. One of the maps that has heavy lag is the beach. it's not the only one though.
Sadly pcgamingwiki has nothing mentioned.
Tried both fullscreen and borderless window mode. I enforced VSync via the NVidia settings and played around with different refresh rates, nothing does the trick. What framerate do you play with?

Tried that, didn't help, sadly.
The game is still playable, but it's annoying nonetheless. :P
The GPU, CPU etc. don't struggle with the game, there's almost no load on them.

I doubt it'll help, but tomorrow I'll install the game on a different drive. This is the only game with such issues. Maybe the game dislikes my CPU, but apparently a lot of people with AMD Ryzens can play the game just fine.

Don't know why but it isn't really too bothersome or too slow.
And i have no way of seeing framerate ingame.
The next stage after this one is another beach one that one doesn't lag.
So maybe it's the engines problem maybe.

That'd be a relief. :)
I've been trying to find the potential error for a couple hours (on and off) and it wasn't fun. :D

I like this game overall, but one thing I don't like about it is the scoring system.
Originally I played normally and I kept getting D's in every level.
Then I searched the internet about that problem, and some guy said to switch into Frantic mode in order to better scores.
That actually worked; now I get all B's or A's when I stay in Frantic mode from the very start of every battle.
But it means I don't learn how to play properly in the other modes, nor do I have incentive to play in the other modes, since they are way less effective at getting a good score, and then I feel bad when the game gives me a horrible score like a D if I play in other modes.
I don't think this game should have incentivized giving high scores based on beating the levels fast. That stifles players from being able to enjoy playing how they want, rather than having speed arbitrarily dictated to them to be the most important thing by the game's devs.
And I also ran into another problem with playing the game: every time I do mission 6-05, I get pwned almost instantly by Rin.
For the the vast majority of the fight, she's hitting me with attacks that leave me stunned and unable to move.
The game says "press A to recover when you are knocked into the air," but when I try to do that, it doesn't seem help me become unparalyzed vs. Rin.
The game also says press the down direction on the crosspad in order to issue a move that I think breaks out of stuns at the cost of health? Except that doesn't seem to help much vs. Rin's attacks either. I still get near perma-paralyzed by her even if I try the down crosspad move.
And during the few moments when I'm not paralyzed by her, I am almost always unable to hit her.
And when I do hit her once in a blue moon, she barely takes any damage at all.
Right now I'm level 44 Daidoji and Rin still pwns me super bad real quick.
All the stages before Rin in the Daidoji Shinobi Heart story are very easy for me to breeze through with an A grade on each prior level, if i use my Frantic mode strategy. But Rin is infinitely harder than all of those previous levels for some strange reason.
Can anyone tell me what's going on for me with that battle? I am misunderstanding the game's mechanics or something?
What is the correct way to become unparalyzed when Rin paralyzes you?
And how come I can almost never hit her?
And how come she hardly takes any damage when I do hit her?

About the battle i am not that far to be able to help you. Are you fighting her alone or are there any other enemies there since you could use secret ninja arts to basicly cheese it i think.
Maybe using the block mechanics could also help
Actually fighting Rin is a different so i found this to help you https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/vita/684062-senran-kagura-shinovi-versus/answers/393002-how-do-i-defeat-rin-in-daidojis-shinobi-girls-heart
