In a desperate move to end all wars that have been rampaging the world for decades, the mages provoked The Cataclysm. Massive balls of pure magic obliterated nearly everything. A strange purple mist propagated everywhere, with hordes of bloodthirsty mutants coming at night….

And the only hope to banish all magic from this accursed world is by casting The Last Spell. So let’s do it right here, on GOG, because The Last Spell has joined our catalog in its 1.0 version and you can get it with a -10% launch discount available until March 23rd, 3 PM UTC!

The Last Spell is a tactical RPG with roguelite elements in which you have to defend a city against hordes of deadly enemies who try to interrupt the incantation of mages. This game has already gathered immensely positive reviews from its players, and it’s very clear why from just taking a look at what it offers.

In The Last Spell, during daytime we prepare our Heroes, carefully choose how to rebuild our Haven and position your defenses. Then, over the night, we exterminate all the monsters coming at our walls with a large range of weapons and skills. Then heal, level up, and repeat until the Magic Seal is broken.

It provides the full package of excellent turn-based tactical RPG: a flurry of stats, skills, perks, traits and so much more. We can choose from tons of items including armors, weapons, trinkets, potions – each with their own stats and skills, as well as optional random modifiers. It’s also entirely up to us how we build our own classes by upgrading the heroes with stat bonuses and perks and equipping gear best suited for our playstyle. Then we manage our squad of heroes in a strategic manner. While they’re strong, we have access to limited resources. Healing and mana are scarce, so finding a good balance is a must.

Good thinking and adapting to incoming hordes of evil are necessary to achieve victory including optimizing our positioning, planning our actions (with big AOE attacks, crowd control, buffs and more), and making every Action Point count. Of course the enemies also have their strengths and weaknesses to challenge our wits, and terrifying Elites as well as grand battles against unique bosses on each map will make the task even harder (and more satisfying!).

Another important and super fun mechanic is protecting the Haven. Rebuilding the city helps us in-between fights, whether it is to get healed, forge new magical weapons or get new heroes. We have 5 Heavens to protect, each with their own setup and challenges. Boosting its defenses by walls, traps, towers or catapults can prove very useful for beating the Great Evil.

Of course, The Last Spell also doesn’t shy away from its roguelite elements. The game is hard, but it is meant to be hard. Failing makes us grow harder, better, faster and stronger! Enemy waves, character, weapons and unloackables are generated procedurally to keep us entertained for hours on end.

There are also the Omens: a limited amount of bonuses that can be picked for the upcoming run helping us tailor each run and experiment with finding our preferred tools of destruction. And while overall difficulty will test our gaming prowess, we can still scale it to our liking with 6 levels of Apocalypse so even the most hardcore players will be entertained.

The Last Spell is an ambitious, detailed and excellently executed game. If you are fan of tactical RPGs and roguelites it will most likely become one of our favorites. If you’re new to the genre, then it will most likely make a fan craving for more. Grab The Last Spell now and help eradicate the world of evil!
Look interesting. Wishlisted

V3nom: I don't even have any crash error text.
When I start the game, the Unity loading bar is barely going to 1/4, and vanish... nothing else.

Checking on Steam to find some others, and maybe a workaround.

I see...
As you said...we need a dedicated section for the game on GOG.
Always need to go to Steam to find help is not cool /:
So anyone bought it and played a bit care to comment for those of us fence sitting? :D
A bump about a workaround about the crash at start issue :

"Ok, so, looking at the following thread for the game Green Hell: https://steamcommunity.com/app/815370/discussions/0/4907188445923540928/

It appears that deleting the AuraLayerManager.dll file may just be a temporary fix, since you may encounter the issue again after the game gets an update (it might dowload the file again). Asus informed them that such error may occur when using an outdated version of Asus Aura software.

So, installing the newest Asus Aura firmware should solve the problem:
https://www.asus.com/campaign/aura/us/download.php (current last version is 1.07.84_V2 )
They apparently also advise to upgrade to their Armory Crate platform (might be a good idea to update it if you already have it and that it isn't up to date on your side):
https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/

Uninstalling the Aura Software might also be a solution, as Gnejs suggested.

Hope this will solve the issue for good for you !

Also, I want to point out that there is another kind of crash linked to UnityPlayer.dll that the team is also still investigating. But it may take some time considering that the week-end is here.

Also, thanks a lot to Gnejs for the the "fix" !

Sorry again for the inconvenience you faced or are still facing. "

So deleting the AuraLayerManager.dll file worked for me, even if I have no asus hardware, and no asus software or manager on my rig. worth the try if you experience the same crash since 1.0
Does the game not have it's own GOG forum discussion yet? I can't seem to find it.
