On top of the pyramid of evil.

The Mummy Demastered is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com. Get it 10% off until January 17, 2PM UTC.
Inspired by the 16-bit classics of yore, this shoot-em-up puts you in the shoes of an elite agent looking to put an end to Ahmanet's reign of evil. Use powerful artifacts and upgraded weapons to exterminate her army of monsters, explore ancient tombs and brave haunted forests.
Color depth looks neo geo-esque, but less cartoony than Shock Troopers. Looks awesome.
nice trailer, game looks like it could be some harmless fun, at first I was meh on the art then saw some of the really nicely done background art and monsters. bit pricey for me tho, will wait for deep sale one day
Pretty sure the giant bomb guys mentioned this. It sounded awesome.
I... don't fucking believe it. Wayforward is back? That's great.

Guys, I realize this is another game with a 16-bit aesthetic, but this one is actually good. Really good.

I do wish there wasn't such a long wait for the GOG release, but I am glad that it ended up here eventually, and I will buy it.

Edit: Oh, and Wayforward, it would be just dandy if we could get Half-Genie Hero and Mighty Switch Force here, as well.

I once saw the film The Mummy from 1959. It was not good but not super bad either. Maybe this game is like that.
Yesterday GOG came to me and held a gun to my head. They said: "You either buy that game, or we'll pull the trigger." Honestly, couldn't do much to help myself so i bought the game, even though i didn't like it...

Sarcasm aside, The Mummy Demastered looks gorgeous but i have another lengthy metroidvania that i want to buy & play first, so i'll pass for now.
Reminds me a bit of Turrican...

Frozen: I wonder when (if?) we get Shantae: Half-Genie Hero from Wayforward.
Ditto.
Nice release, though I was under the impression that this was more of a linear affair like Contra than a Metroidvania. I'll play through this after I finish the original Super Metroid clone still in my backlog that I'm currently working on, Vigilance on Talos V. :)
What's the ETA for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero?
I'll let the Mummy muster: no Linux support.
Glad to see another Wayforward game here (still waiting on the new Shantae), and I'm also pleased with the strange releases we're getting this week.
Looks like a great game, something I would buy. However WayForward isn't exactly Forward thinking, the Amiga 600 had similar graphics and it didn't require 8GB Ram and DirectX 11. Would have been nice if they thought about macOS/Linux support, I won't even take the risk of buying it to use in Wine, DX11 is a hit or miss in most titles.

For once, a videogame adaptation that looks TOO faithful to the movie.
High system requirements = Unity 5 engine
Price = movie license fee
