This reminds me that I never played the first game and it would be great if GOG could put it back on sale digitally:
The Thing wishlist
The game is John Carpenter-approved, which works for me.
Where are all the fuse boxes?

shoutout to Rob Bottin for his special effects work: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Bottin#Career

"In The Fog, Bottin provided the physical makeup effects, and had a small part in the film as Captain Blake. From there, Bottin's reputation grew when he again worked with Carpenter on Bottin's masterpiece effects in The Thing. Bottin worked on The Thing seven days a week (including late nights) for a year and five weeks straight, producing every creature effect (with the exception of the transformed dog, which was partially done by Stan Winston).[citation needed] According to the making of documentary on the DVD, the then 22 year-old's schedule was so punishing, and his attention to detail so precise, that after filming finished, he was hospitalised with exhaustion and pneumonia."

dunno , i dont really want a thing game
just cant see why would it be good , you already know what the thing is
as a movie it was very good thou
The Thing game was a bit like a less extreme version of Jurassic Park Trespasser- a lot of really cool ideas that didn't quite work, so ended up being 'faked' in the finished product.

Still a decent game though. It just sucks when you test if someone's infected, confirm that they're not, then cross a scripted trigger that makes them go Thing-y anyway.

The movie is one of my favorite horror movies. The same goes for The Thing video game, even though I saw the movie I was pleasantly surprised a few times and it was pretty much a scary game. As for the plot, it's a continuation to the movie and it's not bad at all. I regret that I wasn't able to finish it back in 2002 and I probably never will.
This game here on GOG? That's impossible. But of course I would buy it the moment it gets here (IF it gets here) or on any other digital store. I don't know if there are any community mods/patches available for latest Windows, last time I checked there were none.
It was a PS2 game first so if people wanted it they could find that.
The problem as BlackmageJ says is that the main feature is an illusion so once you've played through you know what happens. A few multiplayer games have worked on similar premise with the latest being that Among us game.

There was 1 patch that enabled proper mouse aiming.
