Hi, all

I'm going to build a dedicated Windows 98 gaming machine that will have a Pentium 3, a Voodoo 3 and Diamond Multimedia MX300 soundcard. And I'd like to play Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament on that machine on public servers.

Question is, will GOG versions of these games run on that kind of system? If not, can I somehow fix the installation files of these games to run from Windows 98SE and use actual Glide hardware?

Thanks.

I think the GOG versions are taylored to modern systems. However, they should contain the original game files so it should be possible to run them on any system that was originally able to run those games. However, I haven't tried it.

What I would do is install Linux on that old machine and run the games through that. UT has a native Linux port and for Q3 there's ioquake.

Or you could ask support, but since it's not an officially supported feature the answer will take a while. But someone will reply eventually and GOG should know how to access the original game versions within the GOG files.
