Is there a game out there, where the main topic could be described as 4x in Space/Countries/Islands but with a possible Focus on Terraforming your Planets/Countries?
I would love to play the sandboxing fuck out of a game, where you can isolate yourself from other players (turtlestyle) and begin optimising the nonplus out of the given resources on your Planets/Countries/Islands etc.

Sort of like Master of Orion 3 but with more focus on the part of Researching, Building and Decisions to terraform...

Civilization: Beyond Earth might be the best for this, by virtue of the range of options you have and how each affinity favors different terrain improvements. Supremacy may build energy hubs, Purity may try to make the planet more Earth-like with expensive terraforming, while Harmony may want to actually grow the toxic miasma, which is safe only to them. Even more than Civilization, Beyond Earth really gives you a sense that you start in a wild, untamed environment and develop it to suit your needs.

4x games:
Stellaris
Alpha Centauri/Beyond Earth- Civilization games but here you are colonising/terraforming the foreign planet.

Other games that you might like:
Banished - city builder in which you build a village and prepared it for winter. Quite realistic and you can have a feeling that you colonise the land which was inhabited before.
Starbound- something like Terraria but with Sci-FI wibes.

Turtling is a very viable strategy, and there is terraforming units that lets you change and adjust the battlefield.

It is also a very, very good game
