So it's a graphics upgrade? Nothing else?

GR00T: So it's a graphics upgrade? Nothing else?
seems so
which is why i have no interest in it
i already have graphical mods
10gigs?
25gigs!?

I thought I used a lot lol.

I had around 7gig of mods for Oblivion, no idea when it came to Skyrim, but probably much less.

There's one thing you can't get from graphical mods.

The volumetric god rays that they have, sure there are god ray mods, but not volumetric god ray mods.

There is a volumetric fog mod, but it's very buggy.

Also the original version of the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim runs on a 32-bit version of the Creation Engine, while the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition runs on a 64-bit version of the Creation Engine now.

Which will let PC gamers who make mods make a whole lot more complex and bigger mods now that they couldn't before.

They upped a 32bit TES to a true & real full blown non-half assed 64bit? oO

I'm truly impressed.

Still won't buy it as long as its online drmd.
Will they fix existing bugs? W̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶r̶o̶d̶u̶c̶e̶ ̶n̶e̶w̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶s̶?̶ (silly question, of course they will). Will the resulting bugs be more numerous than those of the original version? Only time will tell. Here's hoping that they will still be selling the original version, even if it is bundled with the remaster.

Of course they could make a deal with the people that created the unofficial patches.
They won't though.
This sounds like bad news for the modding community. I guess this will force me to start another playthrough sooner than October.
About 2 years ago I got so caught up in modding every little aspect of the game, looking for the right mods, merging mods, fixing incompatibilites, etc. I spent more time fooling around and enjoying the mods than actually playing the storyline. It got to the point my PC couldn't handle it anymore but now I have a slightly better one so it's time for the second round. :D

I don't know if you already purchased The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim back in 2011, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition, but PC gamers who have them all get The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for free.

So you don't have to purchase it at all you get it for free no matter what.

I went the route of making mine look like a Vizard from Magicka :D

Advantage, Magicka Wizard Wars also has light sabers ;)

I'm not sure if they actually could do it. From what I heard, it would require them to get the OK from every member of the unofficial patch team and there have been quite a few people who have worked in the patch over the years and might no longer be active on it.
