I'm a stomach sleeper. According to my 5 seconds internet research I just did, only 13% of the population are stomach sleepers. Yes, I know it's not healthy and can fuck up your spine, but it's the only relaxing sleeping position for me. Lying in a sideways position can occasionally be okay too, but lying on my back is a nightmare. When I was a child, I had to stay at the hospital for a few days, and my room mate was a guy who had broken both of his legs. Seeing him being forced to lie on his back day and night with no chance to switch position was creeping me out more than anything else during this hospital stay. True story.
Also, it takes me at least 30 minutes until I fall asleep, often up to one hour. And I usually wake up at least once during the night. Which brings me to my most important sleeping habit: I never, NEVER go to bed without something to drink within reach. Because when I wake up I'm always thirsty.
I'm curious about other people's sleeping habits. How long do you take to fall asleep? Do you have any rituals? A pillow between your legs or something like that? Do you wear pyjamas, or boxers, or do you sleep naked? How many hours of sleep per day do you need? Do you prefer your blanket thin or thick? Do you snore or thrash around in your sleep?
