I've had perpetually slow downloads from Gog Galaxy from several months. I don't download games too often from the service, but when I do, I usually get anywhere from 3MBps to 6MBps (I'm using the correct capitalization of the B on purpose and will throughout my post).

I'm on gigabit internet and hard wired into my router. I just finished downloading a game from Origin and was downloading at greater than 90MBps (yes, big B). On Steam, I regularly get over 60MBps downloads as well. I say this only to tell you that it is not my connection or configuration and I can only assume this is a server-side download limit.

I'm downloading through Gog Galaxy because I want to make use of cloud saves and auto-updates. Additionally, I do not have any download limits set in Gog Galaxy.

So basically my question is three-fold. Is anyone else experiencing similar download speeds on much faster connections? And if so, is this just how fast we should expect downloads on Gog? And is anyone getting much faster download speeds regularly from Gog Galaxy, like say 15 to 20MBps or greater?

normally when these type of threads pop-up, i normally think the particular customer is having a few isp issues. however, i then did an experiment where i analysed the speed when downloading games from gog web (my chosen download method). i also compared this to other download types whether web based or not. i noticed gog speeds DO fluctuate. although it's not a huge issue, the gog speeds will regularly dip to a third of my maximum speed and then slowly increase to my max speed. so yes, there is something going on with gog downloads.
Unfortunately you're not alone.

From what I can tell its mostly those State side being hit.

Have you raised a ticket with GoG?
Someone sure has a fast connection, nice. <slightly envious>

This is not much help but I never had problems except it might occasionally go down to half speed on weekends. I think GOG just needs either better download servers or pay for more bandwidth in some locations. Maybe business has grown faster than anticipated in some areas.

Appreciate you letting me know it's at not just me.

I hadn't considered raising a ticket, I'll do so and see if I can help Gog take a look at this issue.
