It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

New to your service, downloading my first game today and it's as if I'm on dial-up. An 11gb game is going to take about an hour to download. I have nearly 200Mbps internet, yet I'm getting a range of 1.2MB/s to maybe 3.4 downloading this game.

I can download and update a game of the same size via battle.net in a fraction of the time. Why is this service so poor?

I am at this very moment downloading the installer files for Horizon Zero Dawn, and they are coming down quite nicely at a constant 33MB/s (=264 Mbps) or so.

I am not using the GOG Galaxy client though but downloading the offline installer files with a web browser from www.gog.com. Either your slow download speed is something specific to the US download server that you are connected to at the moment, or the Galaxy client downloads are under a heavy stress (while the browser downloads are not).

You can try to download your game (the offline backup installer files) with a web browser instead if it comes any faster, install the game, and then import the installed game into Galaxy, if you insist on using the Galaxy client for playing the game (you don't have to, unless it is a multiplayer game).
