As the topic title says. So from September of 2020 to I guess December of 2021 you need A SQUARE-ENIX account to log in into Marvel's Avengers on Steam to play it's multiplayer and each of the new heroes campaign stories.

Now you do not you just launch Steam, then launch Marvel's Avengers and can play everything.

Also SQUARE-ENIX, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos Montreal removed Denuvo from Marvel's Avengers on Steam in like um September of 2021.

I think SQUARE-ENIX is listening to negative reviews on Steam, which I have read about five of them saying why do I need a SQUARE-ENIX account to play Marvel's Avengers multiplayer on Steam.

What are your thoughts on this? Why do you think SQUARE-ENIX, Crystal Dynamics, and, Eidos Motreal removed needing a SQUARE-ENIX account for playing Marvel's Avengers?

SQUARE-ENIX, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos Montreal can litteraly release Marvel's Avengers for sale on gog.com now since they removed Denuvo and needing a SQUARE-ENIX account to log in into.
Yeah, I'm sure a 4/10 would be a great investment.

Blank, confused stare.

It is a AAA video game is all that matters.

Why would that matter? The game is hot garbage grindy trash. Labels don't make a game worth anything.

Caveat emptor; I suppose I should explain the actual problems here.

1) Duke Nukem Forever and Daikatana were also AAA. They were also incredibly bad.

2) The amount of licensing required to negotiate this title would be on the side of insanity. You need to get Disney, Square, Eidos, Marville, and Crystal Dynamics to shake hands. That's not even accounting for VAs, musicians, and Apollo help you if there were licensed tracks.

3) Japanese companies aren't known for being pro-DRM free. Guess what Square-Enix is.

I do not care if a video game is bad.

As long as it has ten hours worth of singleplayer campaign stories and not something like six hours of singleplayer campaign stories selling for $60 dollars (USD) "cough Call of Duty: WWII or whatever cough", then I am fine with it.

Video games are art bad or good, they should not be forgotten ever.

If you do not want to purchase it then do not purchase it, I however would purchase it if SQUARE-ENIX, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos Montreal released Marvel's Avengers for sale on gog.com, as long as they also get rid of the microtransactions as well.

You guys do not complain when gog.com releases classic old video games from the 1990's that are bad like Shadow Man Remastered or whatever for sale and you guys even keep saying you want to purchase Daikatana.

Also guess what? SQUARE-ENIX is selling some of their video games on gog.com already.

Just need to beg SQUARE-ENIX 24/7 every single day for the rest of my living life until they sell all of their video games on gog.com 100% Digital Rights Management (DRM) free.
Less online DRM is always good in my book, but this one game I wouldn't care to purchase, I didn't like the films nearly enough to consume the game derivative.
Wish Square Enix would release at least Front Mission Evolved and Drakengard/Nier games on GOG, though.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but aren't all their games on GOG really just a bunch of Eidos legacy titles minus a few exceptions? I'm not going to hold my breath on Final Fantasy or other Japanese branch games.

Besides anything else it could possibly be an indicator that the studio / publisher is realising additional DRM levels and account restrictions are not helping in popularity.

I doubt it - I'd imagine its more likely a backlash from their community manager(s) and marketing depts but same goal served I suppose.
I wouldn't necessarily mind Avengers showing up despite the bad reviews. What sort of "in-app purchases" does the game have? Ideally everything is just in the Endgame Edition and GOG could get that.

also, OneyPlays did a funny series on this game.

Basically this I think.

I'd actually like DNF here, and I'm not alone. But I think I get what you're saying.

The microtransactions you purchase in Marvel's Avengers is just the so called premium currency you purchase with real life money to purchase the cosmetics, the outfits for the heroes, nameplates, and the emotes moves.

Which Crystal Dynamics gives out one free piece of item each week anyways, so you can claim one free piece of item for free each week.

Umm, player base is falling off....We know it, they know it....And them being a AAA company, is doing all AAA shitty things to retain the player base....they nvr learn....

Even if they release it on GOG, its still a shit game....so...no thanks....

I would only want it drm free and the fact I am a classic comic marvel fan even if its a bad game as it seems like currently the only Marvel based game I can see showing up drm-free on a legit storefront purely for how even the first Marvel lego game despite being long past making regular money hasn't showed up and the Marvel ultimate Alliance games seem to be in rights limbo/rights hell as far as I am aware

Assuming this is currently going on, I think it'd make more sense for GOG users to just get everything all at once in one bundle, after Crystal has finished giving out all the free stuff. I feel like GOG users would be 2nd class'd by Crystal somehow, like them not wanting to bother providing the free stuff here.

But honestly I don't care either way; I don't mind the game showing up (assuming we avoid another "Hitman" fiasco) but I won't be buying the game.

Same on so long as a hitman fiasco doesn't happen again as games I am fine with having multiplayer locked behinda a drm style gate because well it has prestence in atleast trying to prevent cheating and most companies use servers that need the drm factor for multiplayer.. thus so long as a game is multiplayer and the drm only fires up when server side and not single player side that is to me okay.. but stuff like hitman is a no go on how that drm style crude happened
