Are there any thoughts about porting these games to a console, like, say, the Nintendo Switch? Or to a tablet? Given how old these games are, performance concerns should be a total non-issue, even on relatively weak portable devices. But I'd love to play these on a mobile/hybrid device. For some reason, I can't stand low-fidelity art on a computer monitor, but my standards are a lot more flexible when I'm using a handheld device (and it lets me rest my arthritic back). I played a lot of the Krynn games when growing up and being home schooled, but I don't know that I actually beat any of them. And I never played any of the other ones like Hillsfar and Menzoberranzan... owned, yes; played, no.
Pool of Radiance was actually ported to the NES back in the day.

I believe Eye of the Beholder got an SNES port. (I know there's an SNES EotB game, but not sure if it's actually a port or a different game. The GBA EotB game is actually a different game, with 3rd Edition rules and tactical combat, but apparently also has bugs in it (but note that I haven't tried it personally).

To be honest, I think your best bet would be emulation. If you have some way of dealing with the need for keyboard input, you could just run the DOS versions (including those you legally buy from gog.com (ever heard of that site?)) under DOSBox, and it should work fine. (Though, note that the Nintendo Switch would need to be hacked to do this.)
I think the closest thing you're probably going to get is to just play them in your console's browser on something like archive.org, although attempting to play any game on my Xbox with a controller basically was a non-start.

But yeah, if you want to play on a tablet, there are various emulation apps that you can throw your files onto.

The closest to an official statement from the games' publisher (SNEG), was that they would check out other platforms to see if there was any interest. If by other platforms he meant other PC platforms or consoles, that was not clarified.

Your current best bet is either using DOSBox on an Android Tablet/Phone or splashing the cash for a handheld PC device like the Steam Deck.

Would that be complicated, emulating on a Nintendo Switch, or it requires more than the average savvy?

By the way, I am still to hack a SNES mini in order to add some more RPG and strategy games... Like Bahamut Lagoon or Romancing Saga 3... One day...

I don't know the details, but my understanding is that it may only be possible if you have an older Switch, before they patched a hardware flaw. Or, if it's at all possible with a newer one, it might require hardware modification.

Also, these games can be cumbersome to play without a keyboard.
