Awesome. SF1&2 are titles I love on the paper but are visually a bit too retro to get back to. Lets hope they get the funding, don't mess it up during development, do not sell out to some big pro DRM publisher and when done do remember releasing on gog as a possibility.

One of the first games I ever played on my dad's XT was Starflight. I immediately learned to write lots of notes and to always make backups of my saves, haha. Good times.

Would love to see a third game in this series.

I *think* the developers confirmed in the comments section that they'd be bringing the game to GOG. At least I hope so, because I backed it during the "Backstage Pass" phase!
