Old news. Steam no longer allows to buy games to store in inventory. For almost a year now.

Yes. It has had a big impact on SteamGifts. Now people rely even more on key resellers. Humble Bundle is still a big source of good giveaways. But, unfortunately, sales on Steam itself are not.

Azrael360: Rule #3:
Only active members with at least 50 in REP can join. This applies to all group members, old and new (v1, v2, v3 and v4).
Profiles will be checked for activeness. Anyone inactive for a long time (at least 6 months) on GOG or SteamGifts will be removed.
I want to understand the rules before requesting an invite, assuming they are still open by the looks of it.
This rep requirement has nothing to do with levels on Steamgifts.com, right? I mean, I saw nothing required for the SteamGifts profile other than being registered or am I missing something?

The REP requirement refers to your current REP in the GOG forums, and right now, yours is 217 (you can see that under your avatar in your posts).

May I ask for an invite then? From what I've read so far of the rules, I believe I'm qualified.

Yeah, sure, but... you need to post a link to your SteamGifts profile (Rule #6) so we can send you the invite (on SteamGifts, click on your avatar in the upper right area of your screen and post the link of your profile here). With that link we can find you in both SteamGifts and in Steam.

Once we have that, I can do the next step: You will get a friend invite from me on Steam, so once you accept that, I'll be able to send you the group invite (Steam doesn't allow to send group invites to users that are not in the friends list of the sender). No worries though, after that and once I have confirmation that you're in the group, I'll remove you from my list.

Yes, of course. Here it is: https://www.steamgifts.com/user/vidsgame. Sorry, I should have done that earlier but I just wanted to get at least some of the rules straightened out first.
