"Paris, May 20, 2025 – Microids is thrilled to announce the development of a complete remaster of the iconic Syberia, the cult adventure game imagined by Benoît Sokal and originally released in 2002.

Following on from the internationally acclaimed remake of L'Amerzone - The Explorer's Legacy, this latest announcement marks a key step in the rebirth of Sokal’s unique universe of visual poetry, spellbinding storytelling and dreamlike exploration.

A timeless adventure, enhanced for a new generation

Developed in close collaboration by Virtuallyz Gaming and Microids Studio Paris, Syberia Remastered will give players the chance to experience the unforgettable story of Kate Walker, a New York lawyer thrown into the middle of an unexpected journey across Europe. Following in the footsteps of Hans Voralberg, she encounters memorable characters in melancholy and mysterious settings. This remaster aims to restore all the emotional and artistic power of the original work, while meeting today’s technical standards.

To guarantee a faithful, modernized experience, Syberia Remastered benefits from a complete graphical overhaul, exploiting the capabilities of today’s devices to enhance environments, characters and animations.

...

Syberia Remastered is currently in production and is set to release in late 2025 on PC."

Good to know, hope they make the same with the second too. Graphics looks still nice but we live in the remastered era. Indeed new graphics seems pretty good.
It was expected.) However, I would prefer, if Microïds acquire some of White Birds former projects.

Paradise and Sinking Island could benefit more from being remastered, both in terms of bugs and graphics. And unlike the original Syberia duology they are not being ported to ScummVM.

Even better would be completing White Birds cancelled games.

The adaptation of Aquarica is especially interesting. And there should be enough pre-production materials to base the game on.

I also would not mind, if they make a sequel to the Sinking Island. Its unique mandate system ( evidence analysis ) needs just a little improvement to be more user-friendly.

Thanks for letting us know...will definitely be interested in this.
I do not know if I would prefer a remake. The original version is quite good. I do not think I will buy it, if I have the original.
I'd be interested in this. But coded in Unity, forget it.

Wow, this is nostalgic news! Syberia has a very unique story and atmosphere, especially with Benoît Sokal's iconic visual style. If the graphics are really updated but still faithful to the original feel, this could be a solid remake. I'm curious about what the final result will be like.
