[Alright, deep breath.]

So you know My Computer/The File Explorer? Well, when Galaxy installed those games for you, the original game files were installed somewhere.

So for example: C:/Games/MOM4/Might.exe
(Just a wild example.)

What you'd do is navigate to the path where the game is installed, find the game executable, and drag it over to a DOSbox shortcut so it both highlights and selects it. That'll tell Dosbox to attempt opening.

Note: Don't try this if Might & Magic are actually Windows programs.

And if you don't have one, you'll want to navigate to your local DOSbox in the start menu, right click it, and create a shortcut via the context menu that appears. Or the executable itself.

Go to the Might and Magic series forum. Click the New Topic button there. It's above the list of topics and the page selector on top of that.

Since you've applied third-party patches, in GOG Galaxy go to the Installed section, then right-click each game and choose Manage Installation, then Configure. Uncheck "Automatically update to newest version", then click OK. Also avoid manually choosing either Check for Updates, or Verify/Repair.

Starting with MM6 onward, the games were made for Windows, so what was said about DOSbox doesn't apply to you. I doubt GOG Galaxy is the source of your problems, but if you want to do without it, you can uninstall the games from GOG Galaxy for starters. Then download and run the "Offline backup game installers" which you can find in your games library, below the blue "Download and install now" button for GOG Galaxy. You'll miss out on tracked gameplay time and cloud saves for MM7 and MM8.
None of those are working for me. The manage installation and configure only let me select "language" and everything else is dark and I can't select them. And under games says recent, owned games, installed and downloads and once a download starts it gets to 2% and says failed
I got mm7 to work finally i downloaded it offline not using gog galaxy. But when I launch the game it opens gog galaxy. If I Uninstaller galaxy will the games be able to.open on their own? And when I download mm8 offline it opens galaxy and still says install failed even though I did it.offline and watched it go to 100%

Took alot of messing around but I finally got them all running again thank you all for your help

Yes, if you uninstall Galaxy, the games will still run. A lot of users on the forum (myself included) don't use Galaxy - we just download the offline installers through the website.

Personally, I refer to avoid using things like galaxy unless I have no choice - it's easier to get tech support and advice if Galaxy is out of the picture as it's one less thing that could be going wrong.

Not sure what you did to get it running in the end, but glad to see it's working. Sometimes you might have more luck if you post or look in the sub fora for the games, but it depends on how "active" the relevant forum is. General discussion can be a bit hit and miss - usually people will help unless it's something like Cyberpunk in which case you'll be pointed at the sub forum in double quick time!
