dtgreene: The one time I remember rage quitting was in Dungeon Siege. I made my main character a Nature Mage, so I wanted a Combat Mage to cover both mage roles. Get to the first town, no Combat Mage available to recruit. Get to the second, and it's in ruins, so no recruitment there either. It's at that point I rage quit the game. (At least I got that game for free.)

Actually, I remember another one: In Final Fantasy, I took a trip into the final dungeon to get the Masamune, only to have both my casters instantly killed by Sorcerers (Mindflayers in later translations) on the floor that the weapon was on. For those not familiar with the game, this is near the end of the final dungeon, and there's no escape except by using magic, so I couldn't leave the dungeon or save, so that was over a half hour wasted. (In a way, I'm glad that, when I first played Final Fantasy 3, I had the ability to use save states, as the final dungeon is just too long without a place to save otherwise.)
Started playing Dungeon Siege a long time ago and never did get to finish the game. Love those Hack and Slash types. Diablo, Grimm Dawn, TitanQuest type games. Good to have save states, god bless for those, the old days were way more hardcore. I cant fathom back then, putting up with having to do full sections in one shot, specially on platform games... I had quite a temper back then.. hehe still do.

Thx for sharing.
The last rage quit? Dark Souls 3 this year. It was after one of my attempts of killing the Abyss Watchers. These guys are really irritating and they forced me to do an Alt+F4 combination. :) To my surprise the game doesn't feature an auto-save when using this combination. DS2 has it and it's a very nice thing.
I don't think I have ever rage quitted a game. Got frustrated, yes, but never something close to a rage. I just don't have the patience. If a game annoys me, then I just shrug and find something else to play

Hehe Never played a Souls game myself... I get easily frustrated, and I play for fun and to relax after a busy day at work. Auto-Save its a life saver for sure. Played Nioh recently, found that almost impossible for me.

Yeahh same here... Life is too short to spend it on something you are not looking forward to.

nightcraw1er.488: Yep, the sounds of the arcade, the flashing lights, the smell of smoke and sweat. Good days.
Barcade is keeping the dream alive. Excellent date night the wife and I.

Sounds like a great idea. Seems to be US only though.
This year only with Bloodborne. Some bosses are very difficult for me to kill, to the point that even improving the character's attributes does not significantly change my chance with them.
Losing interest in a game over time is normal for me. Instantly quitting in frustration is something I rarely do though.

Skyrim - The game crashed on me, and I was forced to do a hard shutdown. This time, my PS4 harddrive got corrupted. This was the last straw, having experienced crashing and other problems before. I stopped playing since then.

Little Big Planet - I tried online multiplayer for the first time and a random player joined in. The other player player was just screwing around and after a certain point, was hindering my progess. I closed the game in frustration. In hindsight, I could have simply kicked out the other player instead.

This morning in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. I started a game of domination. One guy runs right past the objective, holding only a knife, and immediately dies. Another is standing in spawn, camping with a sniper. The rest of the team are scattered everywhere else, not playing the objective at all. The opposing team are playing the objective, and they're of the camping and quickscoping bunch too. I ragequit.

Seriously.. Why play objective based modes if you're only going for kills? Team Deathmatch exists for a reason.
Probably Space Hulk: Deathwing. I was really excited for it but the more I played, the more I realized that it is pretty much a co-op exclusive game. The incessant enemy spawning, having to manually control your AI teammates or you just get overwhelmed. The game basically devolves into having to speedrun everything ASAP because the enemy waves spawn so insanely fast. So after many tries of getting through the 2nd mission, I tried the 3rd one and gave up somewhere in the middle after dozens of tries and reloads. Even tried lowering the difficulty, but the only difference was that you just died slightly slower to the infinitely spawning enemies Uninstalled immediately after and marked the game in my library as "Never play again".
