Telika: So, i kinda get the function of a pair of eyes (stereoscopic vision, distance evaluation) and a pair of ears (sound orientation).

But, is there a point in having two nostrils ? Or an evolutionary reason for that ? It seems to me that one nostril, just like one mouth, would be sufficient...
Redundancy helps, I suppose :D It's why you have two kidneys so that if one fails, the other will pick up the slack. Same goes with nostrils, one gets stuffed up from a cold, the other can pick up the slack :D
