I read that gog was offering the witcher ee to anyone that owned the witcher 3. Is this even still available

I did get that game as a gift in December 2016. I recall a lot of copies up for grabs, so it was likely free at that time. I am looking to see whether it is now free.

That looks like the answer. Need Gwent, which means need Galaxy.

Not at all. You only need Galaxy to play Gwent, you may still redeem The Witcher on the web page.

On that note, I can get the free game, but only as a gift (I already own it). Checkout wants me to enter a gift recipient's e-mail. Is there a way to get the code to pass along?
