I'm buying games from GOG every month, over 250 so far, and I don't play most of them. It's an addiction, and I need help. Perhaps If I get banned, I can save some money.

Even if it got you banned on the forums, you'd still have your "library". :)

According to the "Games" dropdown, I currently have over 900 games here on GOG. Like you, I haven't played most of them. But... I like having the selection; and don't mind just "sampling" many of them.

Hahaha, those are weak numbers friend. Look at this and weep.

You could always join the boycott. Then at least you would have a good reason to not buy anything ;-)

(I am very aware there are plenty of GOG'ers with well-over my meager holdings. Maybe more will chime in; so that the OP will know they are really just barely getting started...)

Maybe every time you get an urge to buy something, you can check:

- If you need it (i.e., no backlog right now)
- It's a quality must-play or hidden gem and something you or your children/nieces/nephews would play
- Meeting a certain critic rating (e.g., 70% or higher with some exceptions for genres you like)
- Meeting a certain discount or price point

This sale will come again this winter or next year in the spring and summer. And sometimes these games are even further discounted the next time.

If you're interested in deleting your GOG account and quitting cold turkey, contact staff.

You call that bad? I got over 700 games some are freebies but all but 3 was gotten while dirt cheap .. Granted most was ones I wanted to play on pc or was ones I had on Steam(Before I was aware of G.O.G or ones I knew would take ages to get here most likely) So ya I got a backlog on G.O.G but most are actually games I have had on console.. on pc years ago or prior played on Steam.. While others I never had the chance when they was still fairly new but popped up on sale here and am like''I'll get to it sometime ''And most gotten on sale .. So I don't see my scenario as bad per say

Getting banned won't stop you from buying games. But out of pity and sadness at your anguish (and nothing else); I will suggest to you a more extreme idea:

Create an entry for Nekopara Vol.0 - Vol.4 on the GOG game wishlist. Then share it on the forums.

How about self control with your purchases?

And what is this nonsense about the size of the library not mattering, but how you use your GOG library? That is what people with a teeny-weeny flaccid library keep telling themselves.

My GOG library is 2159 games fully erected, and STILL GROWING!

You've really got it bad ..... and unfortunately at 1254 I am not falling too far behind ... may even be catching up ... slowly ... perhaps.

We need professional help ... probably from one of our games.

Variety so they say, is the spice of life.
It's not about playing every game I have, its about having plenty of good choice when I am in the mood for a game ... especially if I want to try something different. I can't play Quake all the time ... though I did try for a while. ;)

Clearly the OP hasn't accepted their fate yet.

I'd hate to think how many games I have combined from many stores. Even just the number of free ones might blow my mind ... if not my bank balance.

@OP - Accept your fate, get on with it. Don't see it as a weakness, but as a strength. Don't give into all the nay saying, grow that collection, show the world what you are made of.

Yeah, they'll only ban you from the forums, Gog is a business, they won't take away your ability to buy games.
Don't really know what to recommend...you could try becoming poor so you can't afford games anymore? On the other hand, you might start stealing then to finance your habit.
But I agree, over 250 games is way too much. Maybe you should seek out a psychotherapist/counsellor etc., since there might be some underlying issue here.

EDIT: I thought you were buying 250 games a month...sorry for misunderstanding.
But still, if you feel you're buying too much, I agree it's a problem. Better to limit yourself to buying games you're really interested in and likely to play.
