eiii: Does the game, especially the Linux version, require the Steam client to be played or can you play it offline, without the client?
It requires Steam, but it can be made "DRM-free" with the Goldberg emulator. https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/the-gog-spring-sale-is-on-giving-away-the-witcher-goodies-collection-for-48-hours.16225/comment_id=177253

Paradoks: The whole way Larambo is presented. She starts as a supposedly fragile and scared character, which already looks hilarious at that point:
"-Please!" <performs a headshot> "-You don't have to do this!" <performs another headshot>
Then she turns into unstoppable killing machine, single handedly killing an army of thugs:
<chasing an army with a granade launcher> "-That's right! I'm coming for you!"
I agree that's a thing, but like I said it's a thing in any game about killing dudes that also tries to make the character feel human. Niko in GTA4 is just a poor, good guy immigrant wrapped up in a life of crime he can't escape... while he kills hundreds of innocent people indiscriminately. It's an action video game thing, I'm not gonna blame the writers for that.

Too bad it seems to be too late now to grab it. Shouldn't it be free until the 24th?

I have checked the list of games which are playable without the Steam client and did not find it. So I was not going to create a Steam account. Thanks for the info nevertheless!
