For the life of me I can't remember the name of a website that's been doing in-game "photography" long before photo mode became cool. A lot of terminal command trickery and maybe some hacks were used at the time. Funnily enough, the release of Skyrim here made me think about it because that's pretty much what they started with or at least they became known from those works.

I'm pretty sure they're still around in one form or another, but can anyone provide me with a link or name of the site? That would be much appreciated.

Nope, not it.
I don't suppose it was https://deadendthrills.com by any chance. Duncan Harris says he's been described as "the father and pioneer of virtual photography" and his archive dates back to 2008.

That's the one! Thank you. Although... that site seems to be a bit borked, and his works are not publicly accessible anymore? Bummer.

Hm, interesting place. Looks like that Cloudfront storage isn't available anymore though, and archives seem to have been removed last October, but there's the last archived version, and the list of archived gallery URLs, and archived copies of the images on whatever CDNs were used, where available.

You're welcome. You can try contacting the author. He seems to still do this for a living, so he'd probably want to know his portfolio isn't loading correctly.
