I have tried chatgtp, google and about everything else I can think of but I have seen miracles worked here on certain similar forum posts so I'll give it a try.

I am desperately trying to find the name of an old (and apparently obscure) pc game that contained the following elements:

- Medieval England. (I am certain it was set it in England)

- It was a hybrid in between point and click adventure in the sense that you could visit towns and or castles to use shops and the like, and strategy (sort of) in the form that you would move your army in real time (and/or your character).
whilst the enemy would do the same. I remember this because I didn't know how to raise effective armies (and therefore always lost and can't recall how battles played out) but I would always outsmart the AI, go around the enemy army and win the the war by attacking their castle directly.

- There was a battles element which would happen in first person, you'd personally with personalized equipment fight enemies (usually looked like knights with closed helmets) whilst either taking or defending castles. I remember the graphics would be very much like the old doom game during this stage of the game play.

- There was jousting which would require you to aim your lance at some specific location on your screen, I know this because i cheated like hell and put a small piece of colored tape on my monitor on the spot you'd want to aim at. This usually led me to always win at jousting.

- I believe the aim of the game was to defeat a dragon but it was nearly impossible if you hadn't obtained a ''dragon lance'' of some kind but you could try at any time of the game. (I was young and the gameplay sequence would always scare the living ***** out of me, and what's worse I never got the dragon lance).
The final battle between you and the dragon was also a jousting sequence.

- I think you could conquer and build up your castles/fiefs if I'm not entirely mistaken.

It's not Defenders of the crown which actually reminds me a lot about it and Chatgpt is comfortable insisting it's Lords of the Realm which it most assuredly isn't. I THINK it's from around the same time as the first DOOM game but I am lost.

Anyone know that game I am on about? I am trying to make good on a promise to ten year old me and finally beat that dragon!

That's unfortunately a recurring thing.
I believe, it's not entirely unrelated to the way these "question-threads" are set up:
