I'd agree that if GDPR said that, you would be right. Unfortunately, GDPR doesn't say that at all.

If you don't believe me, feel free to ask another lawyer for their interpretation, but I can guarantee you that they'll agree with me.

That, I'll agree, is unacceptable. The unsubscribe system should be as watertight as the subscribe is.
