Pheace: Counting down the hours till XCOM 2 War of the Chosen releases, 3 hours after which I have to go to work so figured I'd spend the time making a list of which other games I have to look forward to. So far this is what's getting me excited for the future:

Evil Genius 2 - TBA (Ow god, let it at least equal EG1)
Divinity Original Sin 2 - Sept 14 2017 (Slightly mixed feelings, looks great, amped for it, but I co-opped the first with my ex...)
Jurassic World Evolution - Summer 2018 (Something to scratch my Zoo Tycoon itch!)
Monster Hunter World - 2018 (Finally a PC version. Hoping for the best)
The Guild 3 - EA September 26 2017
XCOM 2: The War of the Chosen - 9 hours from now...

Wondering what other upcoming games I might have missed.
I'm waiting so much for Monster Hunter World, but since it's capcom they will deliver it with denuvo, so I'm damn sad :/
I don't look forward to games anymore. Helps keep disappointment down since I never got hyped!
> Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (already linked to by Matewis)
> the next release of FreeOrion, not to mention v. 1.0, but that is probably still five years or so in the future

The upcoming sequel to Rune, Rune: Ragnarok, which is going to be an open-world sandbox RPG.
and also Elex, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.

Rune as in the game they sell here? That one is quite fun, an open world RPG sequel sounds really interesting.

For me it's;
Divinity Original Sin 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Possibly the Breath of the Wild DLC depending on how much new content / story it actually adds.
Battle tech
Into the Breach

A load of other stuff I'm more casually interested in.
Defender's Quest 2
Kingdom Rush Origins
Elex
Cyberpunk 2077
Kingdom Come: Delivarance

ZFR: Defender's Quest 2
Kingdom Rush Origins
Both of these for sure. I pre-ordered DQ2... five years ago? Something foolish. I don't even have the receipt anymore. I wonder how I'll ever get it.

Also Bard's Tale IV.

Ironhide Studio is releasing Iron Marines, though it looks to be mobile only for now, they'll probably release it to PC as well. Looks pretty decent.

And Kingdom Rush 4 might come out before Origins is ported to PC.

Yes, the same one, though I wonder how similarly the new game will control.
There's a lot I'm looking forward to. Two biggest ones are probably Phoenix Point and the Pathologic remake.

A step below that there's a number of games of which a couple have already been mentioned:
Ghost of a Tale
Beyond Good & Evil 2
Cyberpunk 2077
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Octopus City Blues
Super Mario Odyssey
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Into the Breach
Jupiter Hell
Indivisible
Scorn
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
The Magical Realms of Tír na nÓg: Escape from Necron 7 - Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie - Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa
Monster Hunter World
Tooth and Tail
Sunless Skies
Iconoclasts
Grandroids

There's more that I'm forgetting and that's also without going into all the excellent opensource projects.

Breja: Talespire
Longsword
Wartile

Yeah, there does seem to be a pattern here, but I can't quite figure it out. Also, I don't know if any of these will have a DRM-free release, so I may end up not playing them after all.

I guess I'd be excited about Original Sin 2, but I haven't even played the first one yet.

Maighstir: Arakion
These look great as well.

PaterAlf: Cook, Serve, Delicious...
This game completely baffles me. I keep seeing its name mentioned, and I end up checking up on it, only because I always forget about it. It seems so basic, and yet it has a ridiculously high rating on STEAM. Is there something I'm missing? May I ask what you find enjoyable about it? Or is it as simple as being a different style of arcade game. There's nothing wrong with arcade games, but score attack has never been my thing.

Also I just realized the game was dirt cheap in a Humble Bundle, just a couple of weeks ago. Oh well...

Thank you Pheace for starting this thread, it's a great way of discovering new games. +1

Aquanox - Deep Descent is the only game I'm looking forward to.

Thanks, I'll have to keep an eye on that then and maybe reinstall the original since I have it.

I remember the combat being a lot of fun so hopefully the sequel can maintain that.

It's hard to say what so enjoyable about this game (I already enjoyed the freeware prequels Ore No Ryomi 1 & 2). Probably the fact that it is a time-management game that is pretty hard to master. Normally these kind of games are casual ones, but this one is definitely hardcore (especially some of the challenges with the more complex recipes).
