So does this mean there upcoming game "In The Valley of the Gods" will be Steam exclusive?

Will Valve pull Firewatch from all other stores?

Is this just all a ploy so Gabe can show off his knife collection again?

Valve has said "We are going to begin shipping games again" I guess they didn't mean they were going to actually make them.

It's a ploy/acquihire so Gabe can poach their art director.
I think Valve sees a good VR game.

The direction has that kind of Valve touch.

We know that Valve is making at least 3 large new games and probably all of them will have a major VR bent. L4D3 is probably one of those. Not sure that Artifact is a part of that but it might be.

Makes me wonder why Valve might want to acquire this game. Are they trying to pad their launch window? Try and make a banner release year? Maybe to coincide with something from the hardware side?

Maybe Valve wants something specific in this team but I think that's less likely no offense to Campo Santo.

Valve is going to start shipping games again. Hooray

Was a hard shock for me to hear this... :(
Eh, I don't really care...a dev joining Valve who's filing DMCA strikes/takedowns on gameplay and 'Let's play' videos because the creators of said vidoes make money off of their game? A match made in heaven. :P

It's a massive, massive bummer. They've won their independence with their first game already, they didn't NEED the financial security that the overlord is giving them, and still those coattails seem so damn attractive to them, I don't even know why.

What can we do? Wait and see is the only approach imaginable. I can not believe that GOG will still see In the Valley of the Gods. That will be a Valve published game after all.

I've been so hyped for that game it's not even funny any more. :(

One strike, singular, on one Let's Play video, singular, and not because the creator, singular, of said video, singular, makes a whole effing truckload of money from their intellectual property (which he did!), but because they didn't want to have Felix Kjellberg i.e. this particular "creator" (singular) build his brand on their game while at the same time normalizing casual racism with a vengeance.

Besides fanatic, whiny and obnoxious PewDiePie fans and imbecile gamergaters out for very, very late revenge, literally no one gives a flying shit about that single most justified DMCA takedown in the history of fucking youtube.

Valve does walking simulator.
Be ware everyone.

If EA didn't think you need to be bought out, then you still have to get past Valve's gaze...!

Crosmando: Valve does walking simulator.
Well, technically Half-Life is just that, but with guns.

Woah

I'm not the only one who believes that on the internet!

Typically "walking simulators" do try to never leave you alone, unlike Half-Life. Might as well say the game is more than half-dea- I mean, when there's nothing to shoot for half the game, it feels more like walking for forever.

Thank you for the explanation.
Balls.
Welp, there goes all our hopes of a Firewatch 3 ever coming out.
I know Campo Sampo!

He played 3rd base for the 1987 Pittsburgh Pirates.

Brilliant fielder but I swear, he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a fucking boat.
