Yep. I'm both amazed and glad that they've managed to get it so ship shape after what seemed and felt like years of spinning wheels in 3.X versions.

that is because a bunch of testers got mad at the constant terrible nature of the 3.x updates, which were breaking everything from campaign functionality to mp stability and that one of the main fan discords for the game organized it all.

development had basically stalled and a programmer was busy dreaming up dumb features like a counter for all the unused oil wells on a map and other functionally useless things.

instead of fixing the perpetual warping bug that would hit hardpoint weapon models for example.

If you're referring to Good Old Games, it's not quite accurate these times. :) The expansion got outdated. Right now the platform is called simply GOG.com because there's plenty of new games on the site.

You realize it doesn't mean that anymore and they sell modern games right?

Some of us moved on from windows 95 computers and have modern systems, which old games barely function on.
