Your collection will remember that.

Gather round, everyone, it's time for a story. Lots of stories, in fact. Delivered in that unique Telltale way that can tie your stomach in a knot, prod your lacrimal glands, or tickle your funny bone. Stories about hilariously incompetent pirates, lumbering undead, hyperkinetic rabbity things, beloved superheroes, brutal conflicts, and fabled detectives.

The Telltale Weekend Sale ends July 30th, 10pm UTC.

Point_Man: Any chance GOG will ever get Telltale to update Sam and Max Save the World and Tales of Monkey Island? In my opinion it seems shitty of them to continue to push new games here while leaving old ones unpatched. Edit: Especially when those games have been patched for a long time already either on their store, Steam, or both.

Barry_Woodward: Is there any way GOG could acquire the necessary files from the patched versions elsewhere and create their own patches?
Maybe i'm remembering something else but i swear I've seen posts of people claiming that GOG support gave them the updated sound files for the 2nd episode of Tales of Monkey Island. If that's the case then i assume this is an issue with Telltale refusing to trouble themselves with updating the games on GOG.

Edit: This is just a guess but i also assume that GOG needs Telltales approval before making any changes themselves so even if they might have the updated sound files like in the case of Tales of Monkey Island if Telltale doesn't give the go-ahead then GOG can't officially change the files being sold? Not sure if that's how it works in this case but it doesn't make much sense otherwise.

Is Telltale literally the most uncreative and unoriginal game developer out there? Almost every "game" they create is a licensed adaptation.

XYCat: what gamebreaking bug? There isn't any
They are probably talking about the "invisible Sybil" bug. It's hardly game breaking though, but it's annoying.

And yet they have to create an original story and assets for each of their licensed games.

I never encountered anything like that

Not to mention just a carbon copy of the previous shit they've published. Apparently, people like it. But the games play exactly the same with exceptionally similar storylines (and bad, contrived plots that are only driven by the stupidity of the characters). Decisions are rarely difficult or meaningful (often the choices lead to a slightly different cut scene, but the overarching narrative remains unchanged).

Overall, it just doesn't feel good to play the games, because they FEEL like cheap knock-offs of better titles.
QQQQQQQQQQ...QQQQQQQQQQQQQ

Well that was as much as fun as a Telltale game.

Well, there's Puzzle Agent, but otherwise I have wondered too whether they are ever going to create an original series that won't be affected by third party licenses.

It's kind of nice to be able to play in universes that are already familiar through other forms of media, but this period of adventure gaming will some day in the future be known more from the likes of Daedalic, who actually produce titles that the world never knew about until they released them.

Does anyone think Ocean was the landmark of 8-bit gaming? Ironically, they even released Jurassic Park and a couple of Batman games back then, so there's a real straightforward comparison point right there.

Because it's not very good... and they probably lost the license.

They are still selling the game, so I don't think they lost the license.

But, yeah, it's a mediocre game.
