I've been thinking... Original ARMA is here and since ARMA 2 is being played in servers to this day too, and they keep pushing people to ARMA 3, what's the chance of GOG bringing ARMA 2 here?

There are plenty of private servers for it with mods like classic DayZ mod servers that would benefit from a DRM Free version I think. I have it on Steam and played long time ago in some of them, which were fun.

I think if Bohemia had any intention of rereleasing Arma 2 here (yes, it was once available here years ago), they'd have likely done it when they returned to GOG back in 2020.

Probably. Only Gold and Cold War Assault can be bought here.
Arma 2 and 3 will not be released on gog because multiplayer uses steam. Arma 2 has been updated in the meantime with 1.63 and 1.64 which allowed this steam integration in addition to correcting some multi bugs.

Arma Cold War and Arma Armed Assault still use a non-steam multiplayer, even the steam version does not use the multi-steam server. For sure the games are available again on gog.

Oh. I didn't knew that ARMA 2 was available here in the past.

Hm.. I don't know. Other games had received fully offline GOG versions before. But then again, with ARMA 2 this defeats it's purpose, which is tactical online coop play. It's campaings are fun anyways though.

Not sure this is entirely correct.

ARMA2 was previously released on gog, (I have it in my library), it has a multi-player serial key on the download page which as far as I can tell can be redeemed via steam (for steam only update/use). If anyone really wanted to go down that route- and by the way, with the recent direction of gog this may well appeal to some-if you have the gog version, you may be able to register it with steam (with the drawbacks that will entail).

Sadly ARMA2 is now gone from gog.

As for ARMA 3, to answer the OPs question, as far as I can tell ARMA 3 is worth avoiding purely due to a fairly agrressive DLC milking approach (apart from the obvious DRM).

Bohemia interactive like DRM so will unlikely release anything more on gog.

Their loss.

If arma 2 left gog it's only because of the multiplayer migration to steam (during this migration period, moreover, the game left the gog catalog, it's not a coincidence). Moreover for its that the gog key goes elsewhere on steam. And so he will not return to gog at least as long as the multiplayer on steam is still operational.

It was well stated at the time of Arma 2 leaving GOG that it was due to the migration of the multiplayer to Steam only and you appear to have a problem with that.

Besides, I stopped using the PM system entirely years ago, so if i did have an issue with you, I'd have no option but to state it clearly here.
Too bad you can't use the Arma 2 GoG version with the DLC on Steam.
GOG could re-release the game + DLC here without MP. They already did it for many other titles.
Timeline of events:

May 2014: Gamespy shuts down.
June 2014: Bohemia releases a Steamworks update for Arma 2. During the same month, Bohemia's whole catalog ends up being removed from GOG, while Bohemia encourages non-Steam players of Arma 2 to redeem their keys on Steam to continue playing online.
July 2020: Bohemia returns to GOG with Arma: Cold War, Arma: Gold Edition and Original War. Arma 2 is nowhere to be seen.

Nothing is impossible, but the absence of Arma 2 during Bohemia's return indicates that they aren't willing to release a non-online multiplayer version of it, or put the work to integrate the game with Galaxy.
