What are your favorite pre-2000 games?

I agree: some great games mentioned there.

Each and every one, even the ones released after 2000 or in the future.

Fallout 1 & 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and X-Com UFO Defense are probably my most re-played games from before 2000. What can I say: they are too good to stop playing them, I guess. :)

As someone who was a purveyor of shareware, that's gonna be a long list.

Quake, Civ2, and Diablo probably. Not sure what it is about Diablo 1 in particular but I really enjoy it and I wish there were more ARPGs like the original.

While, obviously, games released in the 1980s (and earlier) do exist, I have always been drawn to many of the remarkable titles of the 1990s.
