I keep hopping from game to game...
I continued playing Wheel of Time (FPS) yesterday, because I had put my more powerful gaming laptop into cupboard due to the party we had yesterday, and I didn't feel like taking it out yet (mainly for Far Cry 2 at the moment). So I played WoT instead on my work laptop, before hitting the sack.
I stopped playing WoT before (months ago) mainly because there is some secret in the beginning of the third "Bowels of something something" level which I can't access. It is so infuriating seeing that extra spells/ammo behind the grate, not being able to get to it.
I checked a couple of Youtube walkthroughs for that level, but neither even tries to get to that secret, so maybe it can't be accessed after all. Maybe a bug in the game. So now I am already past that part. The grate, behind which the hidden goodies are, is shown in this video at around 2:31:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dzdZqSkiXQ#t=150s The gameplay is somewhat irritating, the damn enemies seem very good at sidestepping out of my projectiles, so suddenly I see 1/3 of my maximum 100 darts being depleted, just for killing one monster. I still don't quite get it how you are supposed to fight the monsters, either you try to keep a distance (which will eat lots of ammo), or get close and get very heavy damage.
And I kinda hate those vapor trail spirits (steam!) or whatever that seem to be invincible. At least I haven't found a way to destroy them. Since you can only run away from them and they keep coming back, they take the fun out of searching the environment for secrets and stuff.
But I guess I've seen worse... I can't really comprehend the story either, I'm some sorceror chick running after some bad guy who tries to evade me, killing monsters on the way. I watch the mission videos one by one with Quicktime mediaplayer, every time I finish a level (the game displays those videos very poortly ingame, like a very slow slideshow; they play fine with external media players).
