What makes you think this? Nowhere in the news-thread did GOG say GOG Connect would be a constant stream of games; it runs in batches.

I'd like to know where this came from... What makes you think that GOG needs Steam's authorisation in the first place? GOG Connect is based on arrangements between GOG and devs/pubs, Steam has no say in any of it.

Just go and read the FAQ, you'll be surprised how many of your questions have been answered from the very beginning.

I would love to if not for the fact all traces of said promotion existing seems to have been wiped from the site completely, hence why I asked this to begin with.

Well actually I am not going to blame you. It could've been made clearer right there in GOG connect page, stating history of games that were made free and when they were no longer offered.

That's not true, I even gave you the link to said page here. And no offense, but it'd seem that you didn't read the FAQ when GOG Connect went live initially.
