Canuck_Cat: Another gaming mistake I've found was not expanding into other genres when I was younger.
I realize now I'm losing a lot more manual dexterity as all aging adults do and so it takes me longer to learn and complete fast-paced games. Completing the most technical achievements to 100% the game are out of my reach legitimately too. Good thing let's play videos exist so I can still enjoy those games I've missed if needed.
Good thing there are still turn based games, RPGs and turn based strategies, that you can enjoy even without manual dexterity.
(This is assuming that the game doesn't suddenly require it for a mandatory minigame or something, which unfortunately is something I have seen some RPGs do.)
idbeholdME: Yeah. Most legendaries being gated behind specific bosses that you have to farm into oblivion is one of the worst things about it. You can't just play the game and be rewarded for it, you have to do mindless repetition to the n-th degree.
At least it's not as bad as some games, where if a boss doesn't drop the rare item you want, you have to reload your last save in order to try again, as the boss doesn't respawn and there's no other source of the item.
(In my current SaGa Frontier 2 playthrough, I spent over an hour trying to get a Granite Staff, and not getting it either here or in the one other event that lets you visit the same dungeon would mean never getting it. At least, tha drop is a random enemy drop, so I can at least get skill levels while hunting for it. I ended up giving up, but on the way through the dungeon to complete it, a Granite Staff dropped for me anyway.)
