novumZ: You still play rocket league after Epic Store Acquisition!!??
Because once I heard the news I immediately uninstalled it from ps4 and haven't looked back.
People need to understand that character, integrity is more important! then short term money.
I'm absolutely not a fan of the way Epic has been dealing with things but in the end it's about playing the games for me. If they somehow picked up an absolute must-have day 1 title, I'd probably get and play it, just nothing else. Heck, I'm considering Stadia for OMD3 (really... REALLY don't want to so it'd have to be freaking good and certainly not over 30-40)

Mr.Mumbles: Hard to decide, so I'll just put up some that stood out to me

Alien Isolation
Valkyria Chronicles
Legend of Grimrock 2
Metro 2033/Last Light (Redux)
Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2

Honorable Mentions:
Rocket League & Overwatch
- My go-to multiplayer games these days with some ridiculous amount of hours spent

You do realise rocket league was on steam first.
Gamers could also complain about Kerbal for its spyware antics or Night in the Woods over the people involved in making it.

Stellaris
Pillars of Eternity
Divinity: Original Sin
Book of Demons
Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark,
Update on the list including new votes, a person I missed and a name correction.

Some 'rules' I'm following:
-Please no 'multiple games'. Example Metro 2033 & Last Light Redux. Saint's Row SERIES. By all means... choose all of them in your list... but don't list it as ONE entry. I'm going to count each game and knock off your later entry(s)!
-Please no games that come to another platform or country recently. Quake 1 came to GOG in the last 5 years. It was released in 1996. I'm not counting it. No one did that with Quake... just giving an example.
-If you change your mind and want it listed please post a note about it. I'm not going to notice an edit.
-DLCs will be counted as the base game. Exception: Stand alone expansion. Prime example is Wolfenstein Old Blood. It was developed originally as an expansion, but released wisely as a stand-alone product.
-If you see your name listed but not a game you voted for: It wasn't released post 1-1-2014 or one of the above issues. If you disagree because of a massive update or enhanced release let me know.
-If you disagree or want to rearrange/create/update this list you are MORE than welcome to copy/paste it and update it.

Napoleon: Total War
Age of Wonders III
Endless Legend
Port Royale 3
Talisman: Digital Edition

These are not games released within the last 5 years. I almost never buy/play newly released games.

Sorry I couldn't be bothered with checking the release date of the games. Is there any quick way to list games owned, time played and release date?

koima57: - Hitman 2016 (less the second, Miami was too vast & kinda gave up at Mumbai for months, overly large maps just kill my interest to learn and "master" them...)
avatar
StingingVelvet: The maps after Mumbai are much smaller. Also I think once you play a few rounds and start learning the big ones they can pretty awesome.
I agree with you as it clicked for me for Miami after spending hours trying to complete every challenge and escalation (the recent one with a shotgun was quite cool!), i hope i'll get that motivation for Mumbai someday again.... :)

I won't spoil it unless you ask, but there's simple tricks in Mumbai to get the targets out of their strongholds. That really helps with playing the level repeatedly, because if you don't want to mess around getting to one or the other you can quickly dispatch them.

As much as i dislike always online, this game do'nt stop giving, and is deep with tricks... I usually try what i can first then watch online for hints and guides, MrFreeze on Youtube is quite alright for Hitman 2 SASO feats.
Hollow Knight.

There are probably others, but I didn't feel the same level of enjoyment and drive to complete as I did with that game, so it seems odd to include those as well.
Last 5 years...

Rebel Galaxy
Neir Automata
Final Fantasy 13-2 & 13-3
Skyrim
ExaPunks
Um, I've only played two games released in the last five years.
My favourite is definitely Shadowrun: Dragonfall [Director's Cut]. The sequel is terrible, but the UGC is much better (some almost as good as Dragonfall).

I have played a little of Dex and it's not terrible, but I couldn't play it on my old laptop and it's not compelling me to play it now, so I'll stick to the other games I'm playing.

But, according to a strict interpretation of the OP question, both games get a vote. :/
