Im really happy with my current setup (2x 24" 16:10 Wide Gamut IPS) but those 34" 4k Curved 21:9 things are kinda awesome, would really like to try a decent one someday. Workspace would essentially be a little smaller than what i have now but probably still enough and it must be quite immersive for games.

Also: I agree with the complains about 16:9 taking over, 16:10 is pretty much ideal in my opinion, would like to see them getting more popular again.

I want a curved monitor, especially on my laptop. Then I can take my curved laptop to places and be like oh yeah gimme some babyyy. I guess I¨'ll need a curved backpack for the curved laptop as well, fortunately I have a hunchback already so I'm all set physically speaking.

Currently I am mostly playing on my 17.3" (16:9, 1920x1080) flat laptop screen, and I am quite happy with it. Occasionally I have used also my HDTV as a gaming monitor, but not lately.

Something like this:

1080p, 21"
PVA matrix or better, good color reproduction
20W power consumption or less
DisplayPort, HDMI
price: 100$

Searched market.yandex.ru and found this monitor: AOC i2269Vwm
If i was buying now, it would've been one of the candidates.

Seremzh: I do both gaming and photography but monitors made for gaming tend not to have good color accuracy and color accurate monitors tend to be too slow for gaming. My ideal monitor would be a single screen that can do both.

Alaric.us: You are in luck, good sir!

Thanks! :)
I'm more annoyed that monitors took a step back when moving to flatscreens by making them have a lower default framerate of 60 instead of the usual 75 or 85 and by turning them all into widescreen.

No kidding.

Mine's still a Philips 190S7FS, 1280x1024, 19", 75 Hz refresh rate, over 9 years old. No intention of replacing unless it'll break and sure hope it won't.
If it will be a matter of replacing though, and money won't be an issue (hah, good luck with that), then the first order of business would be a 2560 width, to be able to snap two 1280-px-wide windows side by side and have things still look pretty much as I'm used to them looking while browsing or reading or writing, and also to be able to run more demanding games in an 1280 resolution without any risk of oddities. Ideally, it'd be 2560x2048 to keep the aspect ratio too, and probably 30" at that size to pretty much keep pixel size as well. But I guess if I'll have to go widescreen, though I'd much rather not and find that quite a bother when using the computer for anything other than watching movies or full screen videos or playing modern games, it could be 2560x1600 or 2560x1440 as a minimum, and 27". The more I can get in height in a standard resolution, the better it seems.
Of course, I do want it to be able to stay at 75 Hz or better, not just this newer standard of 60, though the computer will also need to be able to handle that at that resolution. Response time of 5 ms or less, and should have a very low power use and be extremely reliable. And it absolutely must not be black or a dark color. (At least not on the side I'm seeing, as this is also unfortunately black on the back. This goes for stuff like keyboards or cases or speakers too, making it darn hard to find anything suitable, as the vast majority are black.) White, silver, plain light grey, neutral or pale blue, maybe some shades of green, looking like wood or some plain lighter browns, even that "classic" dirty white / light beige or whatever it was, but keep black or red or dark or, quite the contrary, "flashy" colors away, thanks.

Cavalary: not just this newer standard of 60
This "newer" standard is ancient. The actual new standards for monitors are 120, 144, 160.

Eh, not talking of the highest end. And newer compared to the time when I got mine.

*checks a store from here* Over 90% of the available monitors have a listed refresh rate of 60 Hz there...

Cavalary: 75 Hz refresh rate
Thats awful. I had 100Hz crts back then and then and still had eye strain after a few hours, was really glad when i finally switched to tft

Think my CRTs were 75 Hz too, or at least the last 2 were, no idea what the first (which could only do 640x480, early '90s) could do. Do recall the one I had at the time reporting 100 Hz if I pressed the menu button while playing Deus Ex though. Had that one till I got this in Feb 2007. Never had issues with them at 75.
in fantasyland?

multiple 27″ 16:10 (2560×1600) amoled screens.
27″ is a nice size. 16:10 is a more useful aspect ratio than 16:9. i’d rather have multiple screens than one >30″ 4k whatever beast.

realistically, it’s probably going to be one 27″ 16:9 (2560×1440) IPS screen once this 24″ 16:10 MVA screen dies, or gets retired.
from 27" and up ... probably one of the newer 34" IPS, 100-120-140Hz with some gsync/freesync, used as a tv also.
I'll have to see upclose one of the new 21:9 curvature screens, test how movies behave when watched from a distance.
if ok then golden ;)
