JCav: I choose not to do business with PayPal.

Obviously my complaint is primarily about the placing of blame on my financial institutions. Note the topic title.

HereForTheBeer: Well... then I got nuthin'. During the sale I tried to pay direct with a card and the bank rejected the purchase, too (it was one I hadn't used here before) so I went to Paypal and that was that.

But, if you don't like Paypal then I guess that's not an option, and I would defer to some of the earlier answers.

The thing is, what does gOg gain from lying to you? The sale didn't go through so they don't get anything out of it not working. Plus it ties up some of their Support time. The conclusion of 'gOg lied' just doesn't make sense to me.
All part of the nefarious plan of Dr. GOGenshmirtz and his LYINGINATOR!!!! Soon, he will take over the tri-state area!!!!

I know what we're gonna do today. Hey, where's Perry?
That's funny, I just used the OP's Visa to purchase the X-Com Bundle and it went through no problem.

Don't worry. You can buy the codes from G2A tomorrow morning as soon as I get them over there.

tinyE: A little OT but I had to jump in and say in all my years I've never met anyone who talks like this. :P
In all yer years, eh sonny? Well, let's mosey on down to the genr'l store and sit a spell. Maybe have a sarsaparilla or play a game o' checkers and I'll tell you of the time back in nineteen and aught nine when I met a feller that talked like that there. Called him "Word Salad Willie". Couldn't hardly unnerstand a word he says, know wut I mean?
I get this problem occasionally and it's usually fixed by calling my bank to make sure my account isn't frozen. If everything is clear with the bank I would have a chat with someone from customer support and the issue is resolved.

If bad comes to worse you can use a prepaid credit card.

Possibly last resort, fly to Poland, do a face to face paper money transaction.
1. US banks suck.

2, Use Paypal. I tried to make four different purchases yesterday one after another with my credit card, but the third one (and obviously fourth) got rejected. I think this is some kind of new security measure where the credit card company or bank limits several (even smaller) transactions from the same source in a short amount of time.

So I completed the third and fourth transaction by using Paypal instead (using the same credit card with it). Problem solved.

One suggestion to GOG: please make it simpler to add several bundles into the basket before you have to do a checkout, so that you can buy them all in one swoop. Maybe there is some way to do that, but I couldn't figure it out yesterday. Hopefully I don't need to add each game from the bundle to the basket individually?

Unfortunately that is exactly how you do it.

Unfortunately, prepaid cards are after worse, they have far more restrictions than a normal credit or debit card. At least with a regular card there is the possibility of calling your bank and getting them to allow an exception, prepaids never give you that choice.

I've actually had a lot of luck with prepaid cards. I have my own credit card now but when I used prepaid cards it always went through with GoG.
