tinyE: Well in fairness, I can understand why people think Elvis is still alive.

I mean, he kept himself in such good physical shape.
He really was a trend setter and ahead of his time. He had the original dad bod.
Because too much progress, actually ends up being REGRESS, instead.

Likewise, evolution sometimes becomes DEVOLUTION, instead.

Sometimes, the more we advance, the more steps backwards are done, instead. "One step forward and two steps back"!

This is likely, and also what another user said above: That relying on tech too much has made us all "dumber" or more preoccupied and less observant.

GameRager: What I keep wondering as I see articles such as these:

Student falls off cliff taking photos

is how people can be so dumb in the current age(or so vain/obsessed as to ignore dangers around them) that they ALLOW this to happen due to not being diligent in watching for danger around them and/or not taking pictures in such situations in the first place.

If the above were the first time, i'd write it off as random stupidity/bad luck, but with other instances popping up more and more(like the woman who fell into an active volcano and the other woman who went hiking in bikinis to take photos and died, among others) it makes me wonder.....what the f**k is up with the newer generation and seemingly risking death for a few photos/not being aware of the dangers of doing such & able to handle such properly?
My theory is modern technology greatly amplifies peoples' own narcissism and arrogance to the point of overriding their intelligence and common sense.

I think she underestimated nature, not technology. She probably thought nature is all pink flowers or summer breeze. You can't all fall off flat beton road, like I did.
