javier0889: It was heavily discounted during last sale.

I have a question though, the original trilogy seems really fast when I play it via the 2004 game. Is there any way to fix this?
Odd, never had that problem myself.

Presumably it is using DOSbox, in which case there are a whole slew of controls in DOSbox to tweak the emulation, CPU speed, etc. You'll have to visit the DOSbox website/wiki/docs/etc. for details on how to manage that though. I've had to tweak some GOG games such as the Alone in the Dark games by adjusting the emulation speed to avoid game issues and audio crackle/dropouts. In a perfect world, GOG would be able to figure all of these things out in advance and install it to just work, but what settings are correct for which computer etc. will vary from machine to machine making it rather difficult to automate getting it right without human hand holding, so they choose the best defaults they can, but sometimes we must tweak them on our own with a given game on our insane fast supercomputers. :)

On a funny note, I fired up Grand Theft Auto Vice City yesterday on Steam and got 2300 FPS out of it. The game crashed until I enabled frame limiting to cap it at 60FPS. :)

You play the games through the 2004 game, that is, you must open the game and later choose the original trilogy fom the inside of it. It seems Inxile did their own emulation. That's why I'm asking, since the game apparently was sped up to make the loading times shorter or something like that.

Actually, the games are not using DOSBox; they are actually the Apple IIgs versions (for 1 and 2) and the Apple II version (for 3). These are probably the best versions of the games (not counting the upcoming remastered versions).

To fix the speed, you can try running the disk images, which appear after starting the games for the first time, in a different emulator, like MESS.

Try playing Ultima 2 on a computer far faster than what the game was originally intended to run from; you will likely get a division by zero error when you try to start the game. (Note that the GOG version has the number of cycles set low in its configuration for this reason; try changing the cycles to something much higher in the config file, then starting the game, and you will likely get the error. Also note that the fan-made upgrade patch at least attempts to fix this (I haven't tried it).)

Actually, I should be doing that sometime in the next few weeks... Beta testing all of the games in my catalogue with GOG Galaxy ATM, as time permits. Mostly going alphabetically and also leaving DOSbox/ScummVM and similar games for the end though as they most likely wont pass the test currently anyway, but it should prove interesting to see all the old DOS games rocking on a 4GHz system :)

No, the Amiga versions are pretty much considered the best version of the old trilogy. Though the Apple IIgs is close behind.

Not from what I have heard.

Apparently, in BT1 Amiga, Warriors don't get extra attacks, but Bards do, which is not how it's supposed to work.

BT3 Amiga has many of the same bugs that plague the DOS version, including the Stoneblade not working. It might also have the bug that prevents dragons from breathing fire, among other bugs that hurt the game experience. (Note that this is the only version of BT3 I haven't actually tried; maybe I'll check it personally at some point.)

skeletonbow: Best answer: https://isthereanydeal.com/

1) Bookmark
2) type game name into search box.
3) click on game in results
4) click on History to see the complete history of pricing on the game on every store going back several years

You now know as much or more than anyone can possibly know about any game's price on any store in the past, present or future, with the exception of leaks of inside information which are rare. :)

(According to ITAD, it was on sale on GOG 1 month ago for $2.59 CAD.)
Thank you, sir.
