I really don't think there's much a point to be had some 20 odd years after anyone who gave a care would have long moved on?

Especially on a site like this; Where who is going to care that you found the secret Duke Nukem encounter in Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure?

pds41: I genuinely believe that achievements are one of the worst developments in the last 20 years of gaming. They just encourage people to play video games in non-fun ways to grind them out.

Yay - I've managed to kill 10,000 grunts using melee attacks in return for 10 meaningless points

That being said, as long as I can turn them off, I'm not too worried either way.
I agree with you about achievements. I also have them turned off. Unfortunately GOG galaxy 2.0 sees nothing wrong with ranking me on my achievements and play time (also turned off).

I like the "Make 10,000" kills achievement in the steam version of Postal though
After launching a game, you are presented with a form of demo with gameplay scenes. Any kills that the computer makes during that demo count towards the achievement total.

Leave the computer idling and come back to the accomplishment of earned achievements.
Great idea! Something for the boys with e-peen envy. *facepalm*
I hope not
Noice, I like the idea.

Just think of all the money you could make by opening up a wheelbarrow shop. After all, they're going to need something to haul those around in!
