So, what will Windows "11" be like?

Maybe it will be running in Azure in a virtual machine, not on your local PC computer?
Maybe it is based on "OS as a service" model, where you pay monthly for using it? Netflix-style?
Maybe you can buy and install applications only through the Windows Store, for increased security of course?
Maybe it will have rounded icons?
Maybe the Edge browser will have some cool new features like tabs and menus and shit?

Too many maybes, soon we will know when MS unveils it later this month!

EDIT: Ubuntu (Linux) 20.04 LTS support will also end at about the same time as Windows 10 support. Coincidence? I think not! Maybe the new Windows will be Windows Ubuntu 22.04 LTS?!?

EDIT2: Oh, and so much for Windows 10 being "the last Windows"... I guess we Windows users will need to migrate and release-upgrade yet again, just like from Windows 7/8 to Windows 10.

I heard on some random Youtube video that the Windows Store will be modified for the next Windows version (update), allow third parties to publish program there way more easier.

My guess? Will be more closed on each iteration and the name will be Windows 20, you know, gotta follow the leader.

Edit: Windowsbuntu ou Ubwindows?
Edit 2: I'll be lauging like a mad man if the next Windows will have Linux Kernel.

I thought they said they weren't going to release another Windows back when they announced Windows 10.

They did. This might just be the final push I needed to ditch Windows entirely. Thanks, Microsoft!

I heard spinning off Unix kernels was more "en vogue" for a while :P.

Windows 1/2 - mythological
Windows 3.1 - Windows are fun!
Windows 3.11 - Windows are fun and if you break something you probably have someone to fix it for you!
Windows 95 - bad but it was fancier than DOS
Windows 98- bad
Windows ME - worse
Windows 2000 - bet not many of you had this installed at home.
Windows XP - good and then bad but became very good
(Bill Gates' affair - bad and then good but became very bad)
Windows Vista - no no no
Windows 7 - ok
Windows 8 - horrible
Windows 10 - seems ok but who knows what's going on under the hood

The passable versions of Windows (XP, 7, 10) all came after really bad iterations of Windows.

Windows 10 is not being universally panned from what I can see.

Therefore 11 will be worse not better.

Well, since people can chance their mind, so can companies!

Companies are people too, you know...

You on drugs, man? Windows 95, and especially 98SE, were great (for the time).

They were PC gamer's dream, unchaining PC gamers from Soundblaster and 3Dfx Voodoo monopoly present in MS-DOS, meaning more competition, cheaper prices and more innovation for PC hardware.

In addition to introducing lots of new features for PC gamers (DirectX, Direct3D etc.), it had pretty much flawless backwards compatibility with your MS-DOS games, especially if you booted into the MS-DOS mode (but most MS-DOS games would run just fine directly from Windows 9x itself, with no need to boot to clean MS-DOS mode).

As a PC gamer, I really liked Windows 98SE. EDIT: And outside gaming, it made online and Internet more feasible as well for common users.

I did! For games, it worked pretty much just as well as Windows XP after it.

No, he is not wrong about Win98. I was there, Gandalf, 4000 years ago. Windows 98 was a blue screen fest on release. Windows 98 SE was a different story though, true.
Ok I missed 98SE.

Direct3D and DirectX were amazing yes for the time. But so many games built for early versions of DirectX no longer work.

Some of those are due to bad programming. Some are due to the libraries themselves. But there is a gap there. DOS games will run forever on DOSBOX. Many late 90s games will be lost though.
Oh yeah, WIN 98SE was great! I used it till 2007/2008, when no more games came out for it. After that, I switched to XP
One crazy thing, that WIN 98 (SE) had, was, that a crashing programm could "destroy" your BIOS, when crashing.
When that happened, I couldn`t start the computer anymore, it didn`t even get to the BIOS anymore. In such cases I had to move a specific jumper on the mainboard, to erase the BIOS and reset to factory settings. Then it worked flawlessly again.
The first time, that this happened, I got a real panic, coz I thaught that my PC was in the ass. But luckily I remembered this bit from reading the manual.

Haha if I just remove some words your post sounds like the opposite of what you mean :)
So maybe this time they will be able to make an Italian keyboard where you don't need to press ALT + 121 to type È. No, I'm kidding, they won't.

You mean big corpos lie? *gasp* The shame!
I never did believe Microsoft's "W10 will be the last Windows ever" BS. Guaranteed it'll be anti-consumer in some way, ie, push for Office 365 style subscription, or push for UWP (killing off game modding, etc).
low rated
Cool, better and better OS each year.
I can't wait to try it out.
