No time to game, no money to spend, so it passed me by.

drxenija: So thoughts on it?
Didn't waste any thoughts on it, besides the fact that the "GP thingy" seemed to be pretty dumb to me.

drxenija: And as a side question, what did everyone buy? :)
Nothing.
I think I'm actually saturated with games...instead of playing, I find myself trying to be a little more productive lately.
I completed the Half Life bundle. 2 bucks well spent i guess...
The Room series.
Got the Skyforce Bundle pretty cheap, would have maybe bought another game if I had not missed the end of the sale. Took one look at the Grand Pee thing and couldn't be bothered.
Nothing. Just laughed at the lack of testing they did for the event as it was exploited to the n-th degree.

Spiffing Brit made 2 videos on it that show the exploits. Can't link because I'm on mobile currently...

I got a headache from the Grand Prix rule set, bought the Dungeon Siege series for $3, and walked away.... far, far away.
I may have brought a bit too much:

#American Fugitive
#Fable The Lost Chapters
#Fable Anniversary (and all DLC)
#Far Cry 4 Gold
#Just Cause 1, 2 & 3 (and all DLC)
#Call of Duty 1, 2 & World at War (and all DLC)
#Toukiden: Kiwami (and all DLC)
#Party Hard (and all DLC)
#Age of Empires 3 Complete Collection
#Halo Wars: Definitive Edition
#Swag and Sorcery
#Graveyard Keeper
#RIOT - Civil Unrest

And I won £5.00 on the Grand Prix and got Bad Company 2 with it.
They always have weird, untested events that either get exploited or don't work at all. But at least you get 5€ and their servers, couple years ago every sale would completely annihilate their servers to the point were no page was loading.

Bought quite a few things:
Mutant Football League +DLC
Wreckfest
911 Operator + DLC
Football Manager 2019
Rad Rogers
X-Morph Defense + DLC
Ancient Planet
Life Goes On: Done to Death
Tavern Tycoon
Forsaken Remastered
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
Crazy Machines 3
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1 & 2
Bloodbath Kavkaz
The Stalin Subway
Devolver Bootleg
Buns of DLCs for Grid 2, Mafia 3 and Zaccaria Pinball
I ignored the grand prix, $5 isn't worth the time to me. The sale itself was just okay, but I think that's because I already own everything I want for the most part. I did buy a handful of things though:

Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Hitman 2
Signal from Tolva
Final Fantasy XIII
Dead Island Definitive Edition
Sonic Mania

The first two I just hadn't gotten around to yet and was waiting on a (soon to be purchased) hardware upgrade. The rest are cheap stuff I'll probably never play from genres I only flirt with, but hey that's what Steam sales are for!
Steam can fuck right off with their nefarious gamification sales. I don't buy on Steam anyway but if I ever had, this would be the tipping point to calling it quits. Gamifying money spending is the lowest of the low.

All the game stuff is 100% optional you know.
what is "gamification"?
Cheap games to play, not much to think about it. Bought a cheap visual novel that's not available on GOG and had my crosshair on Infinifactory for 80% off, but I decided to play some more SpaceChem instead.

It still preys on vulnerable people by hiding spending incentives behind layers of "innocent fun". Yes, I know I don't have to participate, but then I'm not the target for these practices, because I am aware of the inherent shittiness and categorically avoid it. It's targeted towards people who are unaware of what gamification is and does and "skinner boxes" them into spending more money than they intend to through instant gratification ("I did the spending and the pretty number increased") and false cameradery ("I can't let my team down, just X moneys and they get this boost"). It's free-to-play monetization tactics applied to a sales event.

Fuck. That.
