I'm so used to the idea of having hot (very warm) milk to keep you warm that it has never even occurred to me to use cold one for my cereal.

Lifthrasil: I always prepare my cereals with hot mead.
^This, but without the cereals.
I wouldn't be so superstitious ; )
Cold is my favorite but I've seen and tasted warm or even boiled.
Straight cow milk always was and will always be the best one, cooled in well ; p
Warm milk gives you ginger eyebrows, pass it on.
This is one of those linguistic things, I see.
I miss CoCo Pebbles.

When you were done with the cereal you always had a nice bowl of chocolate milk to wash it all down with.

They still make them:

I look forward to my (whatever meat I:m having that day) and eggs nearly every morning.

I hate to astonish you even further, but you're not really supposed to have either cereal or milk, at all.
One is overprocessed sugary garbage, the other calf powering sauce, and neither belongs in your body.
As a much healthier alternative I recommend oatmeal. With beer.

I've been repeatedly served hot chocolate in water instead of milk, in France. I make a duty of killing everyone before I leave, each time.

Oh I loved me some chocolately cereal milk as a kid, but my favorite was always the milk left over from a bowl of Fruit of Loops. Fruit Loops has made a return since, but only as a weak immitation of it's original fruity and sugary goodness :(
I heat milk on its own for one thing, and one thing only - semla. I sometimes add cocoa powder and sugar while heating to make hot chocolate (not to have with the semla), but then it's no longer milk on its own.
