The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

tacitus59: Hey is anyone else seeing like 190, 168 hours left on the front page?
DId your clock get set forward or backward either manually or via NTP some automatic computer timezone shift perhaps? Software often malfunctions when keeping track of time or time delays when the clock changes out from under it - common programming flaws. If you see timers in something showing overly high numbers or negative numbers where they should never exist that's usually what has happened. Exiting the app and restarting it usually fixes it, but it might be a good idea to reboot to avoid problems in any apps if that is the case.

Just one possibility anyway, hope that helps.

Jonathanimal: alan wake is coming up. :)

after seeing it like 4 times decided I was going to get it...but I didn't see it yesterday and was getting nervous. so hooray for me.
I've invested a few hours into Alan Wake (not finished yet) - It's a fun game albeit a bit monotonous at times, but I love the atmosphere! Especially if you play in the dark :)
How is the Spellforce series--especially the first game? I've been trying to find a video review, but all the ones on YouTube are in German.

tacitus59: Thanks - thats what I wanted to know. I am seeing this issue and a simple reload isn't working.

mortalkombat: check by using another browser ....
Clear your cache and cookie and restart your browser, that usually fixes any issues.

i'll play it in the dark then. i'm not a big survival/horror player but i like a good story. and when i read about alan wake it seems to be the strongest aspect. i really enjoyed deadly premonition dc even though it's got quite a few issues going on.
be kind to your mini bunny!

I'm not a horror player either. But my God, I played Alan Wake for Xbox 360 when it first came out and completed it in a couple of days. I was enthralled with the mystery and the story. I also found there was enough variety with setting and monsters that it kept me interested.
If we look at the Steam Sale, this GOG sale and previous GOG sales. There really isn't very many ways that GOG could make this sale better/more interesting.

Now one option would be if they hadn't put nearly their whole catalogue on sale for 50% off - maybe 33-40%, and then had flash sales of 50-90% - but that would be worse for us (money-wise) but would be more "interesting".

Also, perhaps a handful 10-20% of the remaining catalogue that is 50% off, could be randomly inserted into the flash sales with an additional 5-16% off. More interesting for us, better (cheaper) price and worse for GOG.

Now Steam has "gamified" their sale, similiar (in essence) to how GamersGate gamified the whole user account with XP/Levels, blue-coins etc. Personally though, I think Steam's "gamified" sale is pretty boring, it just plays into their userbase wherein there must be quite a significant percentage that buys games just for "more achievments" and "steam cards" and other virtual bullshit.

RE: Playing in the Dark.

Did anyone play Hexen in the dark - back in the day?

I remember our Roomate's BF had his PC setup in the living room, with a roller-office chair... and that was just awesome. Granted it was more about the atmosphere, sounds and music with "Jump Scares" mostly. I recall being so freaked at least a handful of times, with the chair rolling backwards 5-10 feet and then cursing oh no I'm getting f'ing killed! Good Times.

It is a really well paced game IMO with a strong story and some really nice characters. I hope you will have lots of fun with it.
If you do enjoy it, then American Nightmare is a good little addition too. Shorter and more run and gun, but it keeps the atmosphere and has another good story (just much shorter 3-5 hours).
I am A little disappointed by the GoG Summer Sale, every day the same Flash Deals more variety would do all right

I see that Banished is 50% off on Steam community choice. This means 50% is the max discount it will get in the steam summer sale. Do you think this means that 50% will be the max here too? Or are people still holding out hopes of a freebie or mega something / extra discount on the game? I remember there was a lot of speculation about Banished earlier in the gog sale but I lost touch with my forum friends and we drifted apart. The sea splashed pleasantly on the rocky coast. The nurse had dark biscuits today, my favourite.

Where was i?
Damn Steam!
They´re totally stealing GOG´s thunder!
Age of Wonders 3 will surely get voted on and end up 50% off!
And over here we get nothing. :(

At least give us a 30-40% flash sale!!
