The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

ActuallyCarrie: I would like to ask a question to the precious Community members.

I want to buy Defender's Quest as it is on its way upwards on Flashdeals section. I also checked its Steam page and it appears that the devs published a patch or something like this to fix certain bugs on June 15th (just one week ago). Are those patches or whatever the developers do to fix bugs automatically applied in games that we purchase from GOG/

I don't want to buy a game from Steam if it is offered in GOG but I also want to have the patched versions.

Thank you.
Nobody has ever called me "My precious" but in any case I checked Steam and here is the update:

Version 1.1.47
19 June - lars.doucet
Hey everyone!
We've just released version 1.1.47 for the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions of the game. Here's what's new since last time:
-- New Japanese translation!
-- Korean translation out of beta!
-- Russian translation out of beta!
-- Czech translation out of beta!
-- Attempts at bugfixes with Steam API
-- Fixing typos here and there
The remaining bugs that people have reported have been *very* hard to fix since they I can't always reproduce them, but I've made my best effort anyway, crossing my fingers that this solves some of those issues.

Nothing groundbreaking except if you need one of the translations. The bugfix with Steam API do not apply to GOG. In any case I'll be surprised if we don't see the update this week.

You'll need to confirm it either in the forums, from the developer or company or in their forums or something to be absolutely sure. Most games on GOG do get updated by the developers along with the Steam and other versions out there but it may or may not occur at the same time unfortunately. Sometimes the GOG version might take a while to end up getting the patches from the developer. For example, last year in June or July Postal 2 got a massive update adding all kinds of new features and functionality on Steam. They clearly said in their announcment that the features would be made available to GOG.com as well, and then in December they added more patches and enhancements to Steam but still no GOG patch. It is now June 2014 and we still do not have the Postal 2 patch on GOG yet, however the developer has been communicating here and letting folks know what is going on and they promise they are still working on it and that it should be out soon. They've also said they have a new expansion pack coming out for the game which will be free and that we'll be getting that on GOG too. But - by the time we get the update Steam got in June 2013, it might be 2015.

Just saying, we don't always get patches from developers in sync with Steam or other places - it varies from publisher to publisher and however they do things so it's good to investigate first. Many of them to patch things up right away though so don't let my words scare you away from getting it here either though!

I wouldn't count on that. It depends on the developer but some games on GOG get the latest patches considerably later than on Steam. Omerta - City of Gangsters is the best example, the GOG version apparently still didn't get the update that fixes some game breaking bugs months after that update was released for the Steam version.
Another example is Eador: Masters of the Broken World - Steam version got updated to v1.4.4 on June 19th while GOG still has version v1.4.3. And just yesterday someone told me that the GOG version still has game breaking bugs early in the game.

So if you wanna get the latest patches for a game as fast as possible the Steam version is often preferrable over the GOG version.

This particular developer is a big GOG proponent from what I understand, so the chances of getting a timely patch is far greater than the games you mentioned. In general, I agree with you -- we don't get the patches as quick here, or at all. Stupid Omerta. =(
Thank you guys, all of you:) You helped a lot and I bought the game and I am happy with that because the price is suberp compared to Steam version (it costs 7.99 bucks on Steam, here if you catch it on Flash deal, a mere 2.99$)

One question. When will this sale end? Because I'm waiting for FTL to be on flashsales and had no luck. If the sale ends soon then I'll buy it with the discount it has now.

Oops. I'm usually more careful about making that kind of statement, I'll blame my scapegoat of the day: lack of sleep.

30th of June. So a tiny bit over a week left.

It ends sometime on June 30th, so June 29th is the last full day. Good luck snagging FTL. :)

Edit: Ninja'd :P

I am not sure but FTL is not among the games offered in Flashsales and it will probably not appear..There is a topic around here that lists all games that appear on Flashsales (I can't find it, sorry) but FTL was not among them.

Good thing that you specified you aren't sure then. :-)

Damn, i don't have enough money to buy Kentucky Route Zero, is it a possibility that it will return before the sale ends?

It's not unlikely, there's still a week left of the sale.
So no Banished for more than 50%?
I'm beginning to wonder if the 50% off was going to be a flash sale and GoG later convinced them to make it 50% for the duration.
