And they release it BEFORE the countdown is over? Way to be dicks about it

Aliasalpha: And they release it BEFORE the countdown is over? Way to be dicks about it

In all fairness, it was GOGs idea.

Blarg: I would buy them even just to make the point that people still love giant robot games. Seriously, make more, says me. And I never even cared for giant robots much.. But the FASA stuff makes for incredibly good games.

Are you aware that a new MechWarrior game is being made? There is no release date yet, but there are sexy trailers and whatnot. It even introduces some new mechanics just to add to the awesomeness.
On the mecha side there is Front Mission Evolved, due Q2 2010, which is coming to the PC this time around.
We will see Modern Warfare 20 laters later with $9.99 price tag on GOG.com.

Yeah wtf...So much for the countdown D:
Of course I'm just making a bigger deal out of it than I should be, but still what a way to burst the bubble lol
Oh and HECK YES! ACTIVISION WOOHOO! With all honesty though, I'm quite surprised Bobby Kotick would allow this, instead of re-packaging their games to milk them. Then again, I won't be surprised if the games start showing up here at $9.99 instead of $5.99.
BUT HEY THERES GABRIEL KNIGHT OMGOMGOMG!

Company is being sued over Robo something or other though...
Front Mission got raped. :(

You should be surprised then...the CNet article confirms that Arcanum and Gabriel Knight are $5.99 each.
The guys who handle PR for affiliates really should stop telling people early. As you always know someone is going to leak it early. Shame on you CNET.

xa_chan: So, if it's true, if Activision comes to GOG (and i'll know in about 3 hours now), I'm glad, but i'm still searching in what Activision qualifies for "the unexcelled" ??
And Cnet, way to go, morons !!

bensmith85: "The new company is estimated to be worth $18.9 billion, ahead of Electronic Arts who is valued at $14.1 billion" - Wiki
"first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles." - Wiki

So what ? If a company sells shitloads of crappy games, that makes it an "unexcelled company" ? (just taking an example, not saying that Activision games are all crappy)

GOG said they planned it.

It's probably an independent department handling this. They'll be sacked by this week's end. Either that, or they just found this to be easier, as they won't have to handle the hardware and software compatibility themselves.

From CNET news's "gadget blog:"
"In a new deal with classic gaming Web site Good Old Games (GOG.com), game publisher Activision is rereleasing many of its classic titles in a DRM-free format. Two of the games are available starting January 28 ..."
Activision had lots of great games, this is better news than I had been expecting!

So, this must be connected with the unexcelled announcement we're all expecting :-O
